Rewind a little less than a year ago when one of my customers (I work as an Insurance Broker), reached out to me asking if I could run ballpark estimates on a “Ford Maverick”. I started to run quotes and got curious as to what a Maverick even was. The more I looked into it, the more enamored I became.

The timing of the whole thing was funny because just months prior I had sold me F150 of 5+ years (due to incredible trade in value for a truck with 140k miles) and downgraded to a Corolla for the time being.

Within a few days I was on the phone with local dealerships trying to figure out how I could order a Maverick. I was told ‘22 orders were done and ‘23 order banks would open towards the end of summer. So, I waited and kept an eye out for any and all updates.

Finally, ‘23 order banks opened and I placed my order on day one. Sparing you each and every detail, I ordered a Hybrid Lariat with a sun roof, luxury package, etc. I left off the bed liner and a few other things I head read may cause delays. My only tough decision was doing the all wheel drive or using that money (plus some) to go up to Lariat. Being in an area where snow isn’t too bad, I opted for Lariat with the thought process I’ll enjoy its perks more than I’d use all wheel drive. (I also rack up miles, so Hybrid made sense there.)

Now fast forward to November of ‘22. Ford sends me an email saying there is no update, but they’ll email me every 45 days with an update. As of the beginning of May I still hadn’t heard a peep (so much for the updates). I called my dealer, and to my surprise, they let me know my Maverick was actually scheduled to be built 5/15. Then, on 5/16, they called to let me know it had been built and they should have it within four weeks.

I had gotten to the point of assuming I’d never see the thing, so I’m very pleasantly surprised that I should be getting it after all!

Now, onto planning any upgrades, etc. I may make once I get my hands on it. I definitely want to get a spray in bed liner and a bed cover (probably tri-fold). I’ve also got my eye on little additions here and there like center console organizers, etc.

I don’t want to do anything major, but if anyone has any ideas they’ve done to their Maverick or plan to do, I’d love to hear them. One thing I haven’t found yet but would like to is something to put in the cubby right of the screen. Please share any and all ideas, and best of luck to everyone waiting for their good news!

Cheers!

Things done to my 22, and will be done to the 23:
1. Spoilers (Cab and tailgate -Ford Accessories)
2: Toneau Cover (22 FE came with the soft folding, 23 Tremor gets the Rev hard rollup)
3: Auto Dimming Mirror
4. Dashcam w/ rear camera
5. Seat covers/protection
6 .Door Sills
7. Fender flares (Hybrid got AirDesign, Tremor gets Bushwhackers)
8. Tailgate letter inserts (22: black letters on rapid red, 23: silver on Atlas blue)
9. Window tint with brow/door cup and edge protection
10. Upgrade exterior lights to LEDs (LasFit - warning, front turns are stupid levels of bright)
11. Tailgate damper
12. Hitch Surround Mod
13. Upgrading the Tremor climate controls to the JOB1 version like my 22 FE has
14. Hood struts
15. And some 'customizing' with ForScan to add drive modes to the Tremor (Eco & Sport)
16. I also made A Universal Radio Mount for the cubby for my handhelds - printing one for the Tremor as I write this post. It might give ideas on other thigns to do with that cubby.,
17. Muslogy cubbies (Over screen cubby and Console organizer)

And that is just my "so far" list.. :)

Previous post has a good list, but if you just want to do some basic things.
1. Stick on hood bug deflector. Each time I wash mine, I appreciate that item since I clean off lots of bugs.
2. Door sill plate protectors.
3. Window tinting and windshield brow.
4. Spray in bed liner and bed cover. I personally like hard rollup.
5. Tailgate lettering.
6. Like the glovebox tray organizer and center console divider.
