1" lift w/255/60/18
Ahh, could be the lift increasing the angle. Keep in mind that while the electric motor doesn't generate high amounts of torque it is instantaneous. Much more like a hammer blow compared to an internal combustion motor winding out. I'm just guessing here but when I was a kid a friend made a mini bike with a starter motor and he snapped a lot of chains. Still, just a guess.

Thank you for your input and the time you've taken to share it. That "racing" guy is just a random guy on the internet, but to my view, so are you. So is each of us. There is a difference between speaking authoritatively on a topic and being an authority on a topic. In my original post, I expressed sadness with a lot of talk that is spreading questionalble info, and not feeling like any of it is particularly trustworthy & useful as far as FACTS go. Input from those with knowledge and experience on this topic (mechanics, engineers) would be most meaningful. Or even just info from the rest of us doing research and sharing the source of the info that opinions/conclusions are based on. So everyone, please share that because this thread needs facts and better info.

Not trying to pick on you, John. Just trying to improve the quality of the discussion. I started reading this forum more than 6mo before I ended up buying a Maverick and it's amazing what useful things people have shared here. But there is room for improvement in it as well because we've all had times where you read something and just want to beat your head on the wall.
Lane, I believe most agree with you but you can't put the genie back in the box. The Utopia you speak of will never happen as the people who make absurd claims "believe" their own (wisdom). Like all things in life, we take the bad with the good and hope the good outweighs the bad.

yes but the puter in the Mav is probably smarter than your friend. just because an electric motor is capable of 100% instant doesn't mean the drive computer will allow it.

Sounds like it’s time for them to upgrade the parts with a recall this is terrible
UPDATE: After a drivetrain module software update (unsuccessful in fixing the vibration) the dealership ordered the front drive axles. The axles were received yesterday and will be installed under drivetrain warranty. I should have my Maverick back by Monday/Tuesday of next week.

I haven’t stopped by dealership yet but I will update when I get a response on set number two

After 19 months and 45,000 miles, I started to get the shake when accelerating. Stock Hybrid XLT. Took it to the dealer and they want to replace both axles BUT they are back ordered with NO idea when they will be back in stock.
I asked for a loaner car but the dealership only has one and a waiting list for it. I don't think i want to drive it for fear of a CV joint giving out while on the highway.
My extended warranty covers a rental car for only $50 a day up to $250, doubt the parts will be in within 5 days?!

Well, I was informed that only the right front axle was in and not both. I am now waiting for the left front axle to arrive. Apparently, there are many on back-order so am continuing to wait. Very frustrating.

Let me know if they say anything about your aftermarket parts and the warranty. I've got 235/65/r18 tires, so the same diameter as yours, and the HRG level being put on next week. And I'm dreading the day I feel the shuddering and get told I'm SOL.

Big fan of your Mav by the way!

So is ford just going to let this issue run wild or will they address and release an updated design?

We need someone who can access the dealer part catalog (assuming it's more detailed) and see if any revision part #s are available.

At this rate we are all going to be needing a set.

The big question is, can the Tremor half shafts replace the hybrid ones? I replaced my stock Mustang half shafts with GT350 ones, and have had no issues even with double the HP.

Not according to part numbers. Also don't think it's a design flaw, stock axle angle doesn't look too severe. Bet it's poor manufacturing control.

Maverick shares platform with bronco sport. I'd like to see what that angle looks like (eco to eco) .

Ok, would an easy fix just to put the tremor axles on or are they longer?
I
Even with an ecobost Maverick the 2wd and AWD have a different part number for the CV axles (at least for the right side one). The axle on the passenger side goes into the PTU for AWD. This changes the length and spline count. No PTU on the FWD.

Agreed with the angle. Mavericks with stock set ups are having the axles go bad. I'm guessing poor metallurgy on the bearings in the axle or improper grease/lack of grease. I've seen Subarus with massive lifts and horrible drive angles go years before cv axles go bad. With the amounts of posts about bad cv axles, really wouldn't be surprised if a TSB comes out on this.
