Back up camera - recall

The Ford Pass App says I have a recall, "Frozen rear view camera display image". Then continues "Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available". I have not experienced any rear camera issue...yet. So I should?????

So far, the back up camera working Ok. Might be doing an oil change at dealer Quick Change. And if I do, will first ask if they plan to seize the truck. If they say yes, I will say give me $35,000, and you can keep it.

The SYNC 3 systems engineers on the Maverick team must be sweating bullets by now. If they still are employed.

Why? It isn't a SYNC 3 issue.

The remedy is expected to be a software fix, anecdotally it sounded like a few with the sync 3 system may have had the issue and not just those on the other trim levels.

TBH I've never had a problem w/ the backup camera and I have a '22

Soooo...question here. If you have a 2024 and take it in for any type of service....will they...or CAN they keep your truck until the camera recall is performed? Just curious. Thanks.

Had mine in for the wiper recall and got it back, no problem.

My dealer just called me and offered me a Lariat, in same color, that another dealer has. But no price drop on the lariat at all. So I said no thanks, I'll keep waiting...I only gave them a grand down and kept my old truck.

It's a federally mandated recall so Ford's hands are pretty much tied when it comes to delivering new vehicles with the problem.
I've never had mine freeze on my '23 XLT but sometimes it takes a few seconds to appear when I put it in reverse.

You do understand sync 3 is not part of the recall right ?

Every system once in a while has issues just the sync lite I'll call it was more common.

Sync 3 and sync 4 isn't immune to no problems.

I realize what it is for, the new on the lot models affected by stop sale order.

Joke about seizure. But is it? The NTSB might flip, issue stern ruling. I not trust any.
I was not in shower when wrote this piece. Will remember your handle, skip it in future. You might be in the shower….

There are others here who express concerns over this recall vs what Ford telling dealers.

If I recall correctly Ford laid off a huge chunk of the software team back in the summer, so I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it's been outsourced.
