Just fyi they sent me a warranty replacement as I had similar issues to what was posted here. They also informed me they identified the casting issue and have since updated it. The new one went on perfectly. Everything lined up and no warping like issues on the right side. The grommets are still the same but with it lining up straight and flush now they worked well.

I love the original, now discontinued but can still be found, Aeroskin 2. It has the bump that actually deflects wind/debris over the truck. I put it on after a rock hit and cracked my windshield 12 days after I bought it. Now hardly anything hits the Windshield while driving. Also preferred the 3m stick on as it doesn't flap around like the one on my Sport Trac did, which actually ruined the paint underneath.

Sounds good. That's where I bought the original and got the replacement from so hopefully you're good to go and get the revised version. I had to wait a couple weeks as they were backordered so I am just guessing they pulled the old stock. I had sent pictures to AVS also so it was essentially a 3 way conversation via email. Both AVS and realtruck customer service was excellent.

I like that design more but for no reason other than personal preference I wanted to avoid the tape and also I like that the AVS overlaps the fenders also.

I too ordered one of these and had the same issue the inner two mounting flanges would not line up. The outter ones were fine, I contacted real truck and they simply RMA'd it and sent me a refund. Sad because I do NOT want a stick on one, and this was the only one I know of that uses this method to install.

Damn must be because my warranty replacement lined up perfectly. The original one had similar issues. Maybe realtruck didn't get all the originals removed from stock. I would contact AVS directly like I did. They were quick and sent out a new one. I would think that would eliminate the potential old stock issue. I also had real truck involved and even sent them links to a couple of these threads just to cover myself if a refund was necessary. It was worth the little bit of inconvenience to me as I really wanted one after having one on my Frontier for over 10 years.

I dunno, I have three sitting in my garage right now... This one and two replacements. All three have similar fitment issues.

Maybe it's one shift or one work station. I dunno.

I didn't totally remove the weather strip . just the fasteners needed . should have come with package of plastic grommets .

I been avoiding gettting a bug deflector, because of the tape, when I look at the instructions for for bug deflector II on amazon, it shows it has tape? What am i missing?
