I was in fender bender with my Ford Maverick that broke my ambient sensor, and caused some bumper damage. Since fender bender I noticed my auto stop start isn’t working. My repair date for my sensor/bumper isn’t till early March. Could the auto/stop start issue be related to the broken ambient sensor?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but sorry about your luck with the bender. Hope it all works out.

Yes that could very well be the case, especially if the ambient sensor damage caused the engine light to come on. Most modern cars with remote start will disable the remote start if the computer detects any potential issue with the vehicle as sort of a safety feature. I’ve had this same thing happen to a GMC truck so I’d assume the Maverick is the same.

Try chargeing the battery if it's low it won't auto start stop. Probably sat for a bit battery ran down disables it it you can add an auto start stop to the screen choice it just says charging for the reason auto start isn't on. Other thing could be ac or heat is on and it runs to keep the temperature constant

If you set your ac to lo, it won't let the engine auto stop work because it's cooling you off at max power.

If you have your temp at any other setting, it depends on the difference between your setting and the outside temp to determine whether to auto stop.

I'm guessing that the sensor is failing high, so the vehicle thinks you need the ac running nonstop to stay cool and won't keep you from it while stopped.

It could be failing low also as high or low temp will disable ASS.
