I have seen on this forum that a lot of people do not like the auto start-stop feature. I was just looking at a Ford Ranger window sticker. It shows a $50 charge to remove the auto start-stop. Found that interesting.... It must cost Ford to install this feature and yet they charge to remove it..... but that is an option.

I believe this is being removed on some vehicles due to the chip constraint. They discount the price and you can get it installed later.

The window sticker showed it cost $50 to have it removed. No discount for later installation.

No that is not correct. It is a $50 credit because it doesn't have start-stop. The chip shortage is making them adjust some options on new vehicles.

It's a $50 credit, not a $50 charge

I humbly stand corrected. I did not see the minus sign on the sticker. Guess after decades of looking at window stickers, this may be the first time I have ever seen an item listed with a minus sign. Sometimes, not often, we old dogs are victims of the "it's always been that way" syndrome. Thanks for the correction!!

I'd gladly pay the $50 to have it removed LOL. I do not like it on my F-150.

All this BS about saving mother earth, buy electric cars, and all that rubbish. When it comes down to it, the first thing removed is the auto start-stop "feature." How about saving chips by removing one from the 40 other non-essential "features" if preserving mother earth is so paramount....
