Auto-locking brakes

Hope this the right place for this, but a cursory search didn’t bring this up.
I’ve had my ‘23 for exactly 2 years, and 15000 miles. But in the last week a strange “feature” has popped up.
When I come to a normal stop using brakes the brakes lock and a green hand shows in the instrument panel. I’m guessing this is normal? But why did it take 2 years to show up?
And more importantly can I disable it?

Auto brake hold, there's a button to disable it. A quick Google should show some pics.

This is where the button is located on the console of my 23 XLT hybrid.
The same as your 23.
The system is on when it's illuminated.
Press the button to disable it.

Yep, auto brake hold. You probably engaged it accidentally. An easy fix.

It's where the HVAC controls used to be on the 2025 Lariat Hybrid, the button nearest the driver in that little button control strip, for anyone else looking for it.
