How long have you been driving it since swapping out the bulbs? My issue with the videos I posted happens maybe 1-2 times a month (with normal 5 days a week driving around town/work/etc). If you swapped them out and 1 day later it still is working... would make me a little skeptical, but if this has been a decent amount of time now, would help me think that the LASFIT bulbs and Lariat are not friends yet....and hopefully LASFIT will create bulbs that work for the Lariat in all aspects.
It's been 3-4 days since replacing the bulbs, so I suppose the jury is still out on the auto headlamp fix, but on a side note, the dash hyperflash has stopped. Here's where it gets odd. I replaced the LasFit T-WT21W-R with the Lasfit T3. This was prior to me learning that the T3's weren't solving the problem on the Lariats, but somehow at this point, they have. I'll just have to wait and monitor the situation. Thanks for chiming in.

Hi Tom. I have been following these posts on Lasfit and rear bulb issues. I have 23 XLT Hybrid. Put in original Lasfit this past November and then Ford gave us the turn signal recall.. Hyperflash dash. Lasfit sent me the newer T3 bulbs and problem solved. I had NOT changed anything in FORSCAN. Two weeks ago I had RoadMaster (towing company) install my base plates for flat towing and they also installed lighting and braking system. The lighting system included a brake light relay and diodes placed just before the taillight assemble. I was there for the install and the installer could not get the lights to "cooperate". Sometimes, one side would work and not the other. Would simlpy extinguish! We put regular incans back in and problem solved. When I got home I played around with the Led's and changed the settings in Forscan to turn off bulb outages. Still doing same thing. I checked diodes by moving them (4) to different positions but nothing happening. When I reinstalled regular bulbs it got scary because kept doing same thing, turns or brakes would work by "flipping" the switch from auto to on, or park and back and forth but still a problem. Disconnected battery negative and went to bed. Rechecked connectors on diodes and thought I saw a loose ground connection. This may make some sense as the passenger side lights were slightly dimmer when they did work. Put it all back together, connected battery and all is working perfect with regular bulbs. So my question is, does anyone here have experience with a flat tow setup and using Lasfit bulbs? I would really like to get the Led bulbs up and running again. Thanks for all your useful posts on here. There are several of you who have convinced this old guy to do a LOT of my mods and upgrades. All of them working great. Thanks for any help on this issue!

Hi Dave,

Update on the Lasfit T3 LED bulbs: On an earlier post I stated I had no problem with the T3 bulbs on the Lariat. Oops. As time went on I started getting a one second dash hyperflash and then then a regular flash. Ok, I can live with that, but that evolved to the point where one of the T3s just stopped working. Checked for current to that socket and all good. LEDs aren't prone to burning out. so I'm thinking the Lariat just can't handle the T3s. I re-installed the OEMs and I'm not having a problem. I do wish the LEDs would work. Definitely brighter, but I'm ok with the OEMs. They are plenty bright, much cheaper, and the Maverick's tail lamps are pretty big. There are many new vehicles out there with very inadequate rear lighting systems. I love the Maverick's big tail lights.

Thanks for the reply back. I had read where in the beginning The Lasfit bulbs would not function in the Lariat, but thought they had all that worked out. I agree, I can live with the stock bulbs, but would like to get the T3 to work with my flat tow wiring. Hopefully someone else on here is flat towing with the T3 bulbs working for them. I could use the information on Forscan so as to get mine set up properly. Meanwhile I will keep experimenting! Thanks again!

You're welcome! One of the reasons I was attracted to the hybrid Maverick was its ability to be flat-towed. Turns out we're not RV traveling that far from home anymore and I'm not able to justify the expense of putting in a baseplate and the difficulty of traveling with a tow when the Maverick gets such great mileage it's not that much more expensive to just have the wife drive it. Ok, a little tense for me to have someone other than myself driving my Maverick. That said, definitely would flat tow if my trip was expansive.
I believe the only people who have the T3s working are XL & XLT owners.

I had a 2005 Jeep LJ (the long version of the Wrangler) They were pretty rare, stretched about 11 inches longer. 6 speed manual, very easy to hook up and tow. Rode like a Conestoga wagon! We also had a 2008 Tundra, as I towed a heavy trailer for a lot of years. Passed that one on to other kid. Biggest thing we tow now is a small ATV trailer and the Mav fits the bill for that easily. I am a Toyota fan boy and if they ever build a flat towable small truck I will likely trade off the Mav. They are strictly dependable and reliable, never in the shop. Passed the Tundra on to one of my other kids and bought the Maverick. Rides very smooth and quiet. Like it so far. I think the Lasfits and the computer in the Mav are not liking each other after I got the diodes and brake relay installed. Just a guess, but they were working just fine before all the tow stuff got installed. I'll keep messing with Forscan, se if I can trick something to work. You are right about the wives. Mine loves her 4Runner, but she likes the ease of parking and driving around town of the Mav better. I think she is driving it WAY too much and that is scary! Thanks for all your help!

My pleasure. Sorry I couldn't help more. Thanks for sharing. You're right about the Tundra; probably the most reliable truck on the road, but like you, I have no need for a full-size work/tow truck. Maverick is a perfect fit.
Happy and safe travels!

I have a unicorn Maverick, only 1 issue, and that is it. You can't beat the Maverick for price, easy to park, and MPG. Carvana wants my truck for 26,200, more than what the MSRP was. They will get it Mid-Summer.

Kind of sorry to hear you're parting with your Maverick.

Oh, yes. I remember you posting earlier about eventually moving to Spain. Best regards in doing such a big undertaking. You'll be missed here.

The T3 bulbs have the same issue with my XLT. They just stop lighting up after a certain time.

That's interesting as Lasfit was saying the T3's would work. I guess one could press the argument that they didn't say for how long.
