atvs and the tailgate

TL; dR- With having a utility atv in the bed regularly, have you had issues with the tailgate?

A full size utility atv can fit in the Mav with no issues. Since it'll be resting on the gate all the time, has anyone had issues with the tailgate? The tailgate is rated for 500 pounds but i read somewhere that is only for the mid position. The full weight of the atv isn't resting on it of course just curious if anyone has had issues since the Mav has been around a few years now.

After loading the ATV, you might want to avoid exiting the bed by stepping off the tailgate, depending on how big a fella you are.
I'm sure it will be fine. The majority of the weight is center and forward on most atvs. You could always put a couple of scales under the back tires and see how much weight is back there.
