I recently upgraded from the iPhone 13 to the 15 pro max but now my Maverick doesn’t want to connect my phone to Apple car play. My phone connects to any other vehicle it’s in but my Maverick. I have the XLT by the way. Any ideas why? My current theory is maybe the change in cable type but even then my wireless CarPlay dongle doesn’t work either.

Make sure you’re not connecting via Bluetooth. In my experience, you can’t have both. Go to Bluetooth settings on the SYNC menu, find your phone, tell it to forget it.

Just sharing my experience with car play. If I physically connect my iPhone with cable so maps will show up on the screen. In order to use blue tooth connection again for music I need to turn off blue tooth on phone and then back on and touch the Maverick device to reconnect device on phone. Then Maverick will automatically connect to music again whenever phone is in running Maverick . Don't usually need maps to display but when I do this is what I do to avoid having to connect phone just for music.

In my XLT, the system manages all that just fine. BT connects within seconds, but if I plug the phone in via USB, CarPlay will start, and it kills the BT connection. There is a system notification as such, every time.
