Except there are some hybrids getting pulled, so /shrug.

If preordering is not for you cancel early and find the best fit for you.
I cancelled and found a 2010 Ranger that will meet my immediate needs for a lot less money.

I wouldn't be surprised if I trade it in in about 3 years for a used Maverick.

Been waiting years for somebody to make a small truck again, hybrid, and not jacked up too high. As soon as I saw the Maverick, well there you go.... selling 3 vehicles to consolidate them into the Lariat. Love the Area 51, but maybe will tire of it after a while. There are always wraps to consider to spice it up a bit. Should wait for 2nd or 3rd year I know, or for another manufacturer, but I am ready NOW. Really want to see one in person to sit in and drive.

I'm very late to the party and I guess you could say I'm still pondering what I'm doing since I don't even have a reservation yet. I was originally going to buy a Bronco, but the rollout has been a disaster and after some soul searching I decided to look for something else. Then the Maverick was announced and I've been thinking about it ever since. I'm sold on the Mav and there's no doubts about it being a good fit for me. Honestly the only problem I'm having a hard time with is figuring out what dealer I want to go with. In a few years if they come out with a awd hybrid I might kick myself for not waiting, but lifes too short to hold off on something that might not even happen.

Where in SC? Other advantages besides doc fee? MSRP or Invoice or...?
I'm in Atlanta but work in Greenville all the time and my parents live in HHI.
Thanks!
I love Hilton Head!

I've been considering getting a PHEV. I'm not convinced yet though, there's no pickup PHEV, and the SUV/CUV ones (Rav4, Explorer) seem to be difficult to get.

Nope, the Mav fits my needs. A small truck that's AWD, looks decent, and gets good gas mileage. I can wait, it checks nearly every box as to what I want/need. It's darn near perfect for me so I am not reconsidering anything, besides there's nothing else like it on the market in my opinion.

Personally, I believe that once you start getting into a lariat with packages added on, you're too close to a ranger in price so you might as well look into those too. For me, the sweet spot is an optioned XLT.
for me it’s about the size , I ordered a fairly loaded lariat to replace my Chevy Colorado .

And if that was best for you (sounds like it was) then you absolutely made the right call and I am glad you did so with thought and consideration and before you got pulled.

please note none of the above is sarcasm. So long as anyone makes a decision and knows why they made it. I will support them. I only kvetch when it is obviously knee jerk or otherwise unthoughtful

I’m reconsidering. Being 6’ 4” and pushing 295lbs I’m thinking it might be small. That coupled with no current car payment has me wondering if I’ll actually do the paperwork when it arrives locally. If not I’ll just keep driving the Ram till something else looks appealing. It’s really hard to commit to a vehicle I’ve never seen, touched, or sat in.

I don’t think you will have an issue. We are all different heights. When I was 6’5.5 and my father was 6’7.5 the only thing that differed between us was inseam. He wore a 35, I wore a 33. Shirt legs for guys so tall. Sit down in a chair and have someone measure you from the bottom of your but you the top of your head.,this is your torso height. Ford has published the maximum torso height and if you are under it, golden. If not, you may need to lean the seat back a bit. If you are within an inch, don’t get the moonroof.

but it’s a fairly roomy cabin.

I was also waiting for the Maverick only I didn't know it was coming out at the time. I was considering a Ranger, but it is more truck than I need or want. I really like the size of my '04 Ranger and wondered why there wasn't something like it. Ford was listening in! (y) I'm also considering doing some accent wrap like similar to the First Addition. I've already decided I'm getting vinyl letters to "fill-in" the Maverick on the tailgate. Next will be something for the side of the truck.

$28k OTD price, incl taxes, fees, everything.

You may be right about Lariat. I downgraded from Lariat -> XLT after convincing my better half that we really didn't need leather seats & dual-climate.

For $30k, you can find a lightly used '19 Ranger. But it will be RWD and almost always an XL. RWD is non-starter for snow belt folks like me. 4WD will cost about $4k more to get. When 4WD, MPG will drop from the EB AWD's 29 highway to the Ranger's 24, so it will cost more to drive.
Is that awd ? Meaning xlt awd otd $28k?

Not a single second thought here.
The Mav is the vehicle I never knew I needed/wanted until I saw the first news article.
I was thinking I wanted my next vehicle to be a fun RWD coupe or sedan. But between the price and gas mileage of anything truly fun (not that I can't afford either, I just don't want to) there's nothing out there that I could get excited about. By buddy just took delivery of a BMW M2 Competition. I drove it yesterday!:devilish: Good way for me to rack up a bunch of tickets and probably piss a lot of people off in the process. But a $60k car and no garage to put it in? I don't think so.

A truck is the anti-sportscar. Getting one that is environmentally friendly, good looking, and inexpensive is the right move for me at this point. And I still have a motorcycle for pissing people off 😆

Nothing like a motorcycle to help you unwind and piss people at the same time! 😂 :devilish:
