Anyone program their own third Push Button Start FOB?

Finally have my 2025 with push button start. Had already ordered a third FOB so I would be ready to program it. But no matter what method I try from old YouTube Videos or forum posts (not this forum, other forums), I can't get the third to program. Anyone done this on their Push Button Start? I assume it doesn't need to be 2025 specific since I think the same little depression in the center console is the same for 2022-2025 models.

Some info. Third FOB flashes a red light three or four times when you hit any button. My original two do not flash a light ever, but function. Thought maybe this meant the battery was bad, so I replaced it. Same thing. 3 or 4 red flashes when you push any button, even with a new battery. Maybe it flashes because it isn't programmed yet?

This is the main method I have tried so far (without success).

Open center console. Pull up felt cover - place first existing fob in depression - push start button ( without foot on brake ) ignition comes on- count to 5 - remove fob - push ignition off - put second existing fob in depression - push ignition on - count to five - remove fob - push ignition off. take new fob - put in depression push AND HOLD start button down - you should hear chirp and message.

I have also tried NOT holding the start button for the third key. No luck. I also tried a variant where you lock your doors as soon as you get in. Also tried one where you push the start button, THEN put the FOB in the depression (for all three keys).

In all of my tries, I have NOT been actually starting the truck. Only putting it into accessory mode. Do folks think I might need to actually start the truck with each key?

There has to be one small thing I am doing wrong......

It took me about 3 tries to get it to code up using the method you described. The only thing I can think of is make sure the numbers on the fob match the numbers on your original fobs, my first fob I ordered turned out to be for the 2022-24 model years, and it looks exactly the same as the 2025 fob except the numbers under the manual key were different.

Yep. I have still not found the correct fob for my 2025. I have 3 or 4 failed FOBS that won't work. Every few weeks I google my key code number. Found one result once, and it was some international Ebay listing.

THANK YOU! I have been fighting the new keyfobs since February January. Could not get them to program. It was the speed! WAYYYYYY faster works. Doing the "wait at least 5 or 10 seconds" does NOT work.

Now for the oddity. I had two spare fobs purchased separately at separate times. When the first one did not work, I bought the second one. Could never get either to program until today. Here is where it gets weird. My two original fobs (that came with the truck) have a little red LED light above the unlock button. But they don't ever light up. Fobs work fine, as they are the two originals. Whatever, doesn't bother me. First spare fob (let's call him number 3) programmed today. LED does not light up. Cool, who cares. Second spare fob (let's call him number 4) DOES flash the LED when you hit lock or unlock. And it programmed correctly. Weird huh? But here is the weirder part. "number 4" won't start the truck unless it is in the programming indentation in the center storage console. I figured "hey, maybe flashing LED is a low battery warning". So I put a brand new battery in it. Still flashes. Still won't start the truck unless it is in the programming slot.

So......I have 3 fobs that work like usual, even if they are in my pants pocket. None of those flash the LED. And I have one that only works when in the programming slot, and flashes an LED even with a new battery.

I am not going to complain, since I now technically have four functioning fobs. Guess I will keep "number 4" as my ultra emergency, if I somehow manage to lose all three of my other fobs......fob.

I haven't used ForScan to see what it shows for number of programmed keys, but I might do that sometime soon. Might be interesting to see if weird number 4 shows any different than the other 3.

Sounds like the transponder is readable on #4, when supplied some outside power.
Is it a keyless entry fob style - meaning always sending out the transponder info?
Maybe the fob itself has a setting - keyless or non-keyless - currently in the wrong mode.
Only sends the code when a button is pushed.
