Anyone paint steelies BLACK and install hubcaps???

I hate to say it but some of you have no taste. The silver hubcaps looked ok but painted blue they are clown car ugly.

First I taped off the wheel, I found

the best is 2" Masking tape as I could put it behind the rim on the tire.

Did you have to do anything to the brakes prior to painting the steelies? I want to do this as soon as I get my truck.

Any overspray on the disc brakes would rub off when you apply the brakes. However, I was careful to minimize the overspray.

Has anyone painted their steel wheels black and then install hubcaps? If so, can you PLEASE post a picture or 2? Thanks!

The steelies with just hubcaps do not look very good, imho. You can see the circles behind the hubcap covers. thanks! Bob

Have you painted your steelies now? I want to install the same hubcaps on my XL Atlas Blue but I’d like to see a picture first with steelies in black and these hubcaps. Thanks

Did not paint mine black, but bought black steelies and added black covers.
