Anyone have hand calculated MPG over a considerable distance going 70, 75 or 80ish MPH?

Vast majority of my commute is eventually going to be freeway speed 30+ miles. If it would make me get the friggin thing faster, I may change to an eco if people are getting far down into the low 30s. Fuelly is hard to gauge because you don’t really know what kind of driving a person is doing.
Just finished Turnpike runs averaged in the low 30’s on my EB AWD lariat

Just want to share my experience on my 2024 mav XLT hybrid got it on January 2024. I usually drive 50/50 highway & city drive. I put gas of 91 octane all the time with all my cars. I get 40-41mpg on freeway ( 65-79mph ) & city 41-42mpg (40-50mph ) Here in San Gabriel,CA. I don’t see much of 35mph speed limit in my area unless is school zone or residential. I went to Seattle,WA on April and noticed there the speed limit is lower than California. i see a lot of 35mph city limit and 65mph freeway limit. We rented a sienna 2023 with 8 people and 8 full size luggage ( i dont know how we fit in ) šŸ˜‚ that sienna got lowered because of heaviness for a week of driving i always get 34mpg that sienna advertised as 36/36 mpg combined. We drove to Canada and still get 34mpg on dash (65-70mpg ) i think in Seattle,WA because of lower driving speed limit any hybrid will get more mpg including maverick, might go for over 45mpg or more since it has more 35mph speed limit. I noticed this, once I drive 35mph in 2000-3000RPM it will stay on electric mode on eco mode ( no hills ) I get honked and pass over by many drivers in my area if i drive slower than 40mph šŸ˜‚ so no choice but to go 40-45 on city instead.

80% Highway at anywhere between 35-40 MPG in the winter and 40-45 MPG in the summer. If there's no one behind me, I'll go 50-55 but otherwise I'm going speed limit

i picked mine up at long mcarthur,Kansas, drove 1500 miles back to Florida all with cruise set to pretty much 75 and averaged 36mpg over the 1st 4 tanks, which really inc the learning process of the truck/driving habbits, back in town i'm up to 42 avg, but i think that initial driving has slowed the rise in the overall average

I drove 4.5 hours to Michigan (Detroit area) last Friday for my Lariat hybrid. About 300 miles one way. I drove almost all the way back home (259 miles) and decided to stop and fill up. Used 5.9 gallons (43.9 mpg). All highway probably averaging 74 mph in Eco. Not even broken in! I was getting 32.5 after 3k miles in my EB I traded in.

With at least 90% highway miles, the lifetime MPG at 8,100 miles of the truck is 45.9. Average speed (when not in traffic) is 70 with the occasional 80 to get around traffic. We have light, rolling hills, around Atlanta.

I push the drive mode 4 times to get into eco mode almost every time I sit down. I use the gas motor to get up hills and then use the dash display to adjust my accelerator input, so that the gas engine shuts down and it gets into electric mode for flat areas and down hull runs. I let the truck regain as much power as is possible (and as a commercial transportation operator for a living, smooth is my thing).

My truck is a Lariat on 60 series tires and a tonneau cover. I am guessing the XL & XLT are probably slightly more efficient.

You will see lower MPG in the middle of summer and the winter. The motor goes into something other than an Atkinson cycle when it is cold (you can feel noticeably more vibration when cold and needing to make heat). When in this mode the truck gets around 20 MPG. Once the truck gets to 1/3 the way up the temp gauge (two bars on the Lariat) it shuts down and operates normally.

Just did the first oil change. This is the first Hybrid that I have owned, but my third MZR based 2.5L. The oil had a lot of gas in it. My thought is that the cold cycling of the motor as much as I operate it in eco mode is probably allowing gas to seep past the rings. The oil smelled terrible, but looked good.

I have a '24 Lariat Hybrid that was delivered in January. I did 2 trips to my cabin in up north Wisconsin in late April, early May. My wife and i, truck bed loaded, under the tonneau cover and luggage in back seat.

About 400 miles round trip, 90% on highway at 70-75 mph, using ACC.
Trip 1: trip display 35.6 mpg, calculated 34.8 mpg
Trip 2: Trip display 34.7 mpg, calculated 35.7 mpg

The majority of my driving will be around town, ranging 25-50 mph. Averaging 41-44 mpg (calculated). Maybe only 8-10 long trips a year.

I drive in normal mode most of the time, i accelerate and keep with traffic, but I do try to coast more. Nothing special to increase mileage. I'm very happy with my hybrid choice.

Drove 1,800 miles down I-95 and averaged 37mpg at 70mph the entire trip.

I live in Texas and bought my Maverick for dual (opposite) purposes: taking my kids to school and going on long trips. For one kid, it is all back-street country driving (9 miles each way) at 35 miles per hour. I average around 48 MPG on this. For other child I have to get on a highway where the posted speed is 60mph (about 10 miles each way with 2 stop-lights about 3 miles apart). Average around 42mpg on these runs. When all I am doing is taking kids to school, I average about 44-45 mpg on a 500 mile fill-up (hand calculated). I am a granny-driver and try to get every possible MPG I can as long as I am not in a hurry (or holding up traffic).

However, being in Central Texas, it is a 250 mile Interstate trip to get just about anywhere (Dallas, Corpus Christi, etc.). Interstates tend to be 70-75mph (or 80mph in some areas). I have found that the Maverick MPG is VERY "apparent headwind" dependent. For most of the year, the predominent wind is from the South. Thus, going South on I-35 I typically get 3-4 MPG less than going North even at the same "ground speed". Running the AC also seems to impact MPG by 2-3 MPG. On a 500+ mile round trip to Dallas this weekend, I averaged around 38 MPG traveling at 65-70 mph. I had about a 20 mph tailwind going up so did closer to 41 MPG going North but was only around 35 MPG coming back South. When I have done this same trip at 75 mph in similar weather conditions, I averaged around 34-36 MPG for the round trip. So roughly speaking, about every 5 MPH over 60 seems to cost you about 2-3 MPG.
