Has anyone found a locking fuel filler plug for the EcoBoost?
Sponsored
Just tried fords regular capless fuel plug at dealership. It does not fit the Maverick. Not worried about someone taking gas out. Worried someone could put something in that will stay between the two seals until the next time you put the nozzle in to fill up.Has anyone found a locking fuel filler plug for the EcoBoost?
I have always used a locking cap. This is the first time I have had a capless tank. Anyone can place something past the first seal, but not the second seal. But when you then go to fill your tank whatever they placed in it will pass through the second seal with the gas. Example: sugar.Genuine curiosity: Is this a huge concern? It's not like the capless version is any less secure in that regard than the standard capped version that vehicles used to come with.
Who hates you this much?I have always used a locking cap. This is the first time I have had a capless tank. Anyone can place something past the first seal, but not the second seal. Halloween is coming. Years ago I had my truck and others in our community, egged. Just kids being butts.Who hates you this much?
Good to know, though there are other things that can cause an issue.Just FYI, the old "sugar in the gas tank" story is mostly a myth since sugar does not dissolve in gasoline. While not good for an engine the worst that might happen is more likely a clogged fuel filter.
Google is your friend.
If only that were actually helpful for ecoboost owners looking for a locking cap.I'll save people a thread search on the subject and let my easy Fuel comment in that thread speak for its self.
