Likely yes that could be done, however it wouldn't matter..... see my post #14 right above yours.
Yep that works also. I've seen that method used on fertilizer tanks with battery drills and five gallon buckets. Sheriff pulled over guy with uncovered buckets in floorboard of car. Ammonia is heavier than air and will maybe stay in bucket but deadly if it doesn't.

So.... Can a siphon hose be inserted through a short pipe shaped like a filler nozzle inserted into the filler neck?
That's a pretty complicated setup for a thief to be carrying around, and I expect that it would only work (if at all) on Ford and some newer Honda and GMC vehicles. That's not going to happen in real life.

I don't know if it's worth worrying about. Even if you had a locking door anyone with a flat head screwdriver or a small prybar would be able to get the door open in about 10 seconds and like @Art Vandelay has already pointed out the capless filler already has anti theft measures built in.
