I keep a Halon that timed out from when I had my Cherokee years ago. It fits perfectly.

I bought this fire extinguisher. It fits in the door perfectly and is an integral component to the "be prepared for any situation while traveling" ethos. The only downside I found is that the pin rattles while I'm driving. It's annoying. I'll have to figure out a way to get it to stop rattling.
I wrapped a rubber band around the pull pin and it stopped the rattling.

Did you notice the warnings on this extinguisher says store between 32-104F? What are the odds the inside of your truck exceeding either temperature? If stored inside your truck, any concerns of it bursting?
This has been discussed before.
I found this information about it:

If you are shopping for an extinguisher, you should look for one that displays the Underwriters Laboratory label. The laboratory requires that extinguishers can be safely stored at minus-40 to plus-120 degrees, a standard that is sometimes posted on the extinguisher.

But the laboratory also requires that extinguishers survive 175 degrees for seven days, which is not normally disclosed in product information. A quality, UL-listed extinguisher has a steel cylinder that is designed to withstand six times its normal pressure without bursting.

Further research shows that they have no record of bursting even in black police cars sitting in the Las Vegas sun. (No, they don’t store the extinguishers in direct sun)
Departments only rotate them every 2-3 years due to the jostling of the contents which causes packing of the contents, otherwise they would be fine for the recommended lifespan..

They are also made to leak from the O-rings instead of bursting.

End

I keep mine in the car year round.

I like the Element E50 extinguisher and keep it tucked into the little cubby between the rear seat and the door, snugged in with a pair of leather gloves that could be very handy if actually fighting a fire. Clean, never expires, non-toxic and as easy to store as a road flare.

Commercial Trucks as in tractor-trailers are required to have fire extinguishers onboard the truck. Drivers take 2 or 3 days off at a time or go on vacation for weeks leaving the truck parked while they are away and the fire extinguishers survive being locked in the extreme heat conditions in the truck just fine.
