Good Afternoon everyone!

I have a 25 XLT FWD hybrid I have picked up a few months ago.

About a week ago I started getting a yellow warning at the rear right when going above 45 MPH and the steering starts acting up.

Today I had to go out of town and drive 65 MPH and now yellow warning kept coming on and steering started acting up causing the vehicle to swerve.

After about a hundred miles the yellow warning turned into a red warning.

I tried to search for the same problem but did not see a thread on it. Any ideas where to look or check? I can't find any sensors on the rear of the vehicle?

Thank you in advance!

It could be Lane assist / Lane centering. From the 2025 owners manual.

The XLT will have lane assist, but not lane centering.

Turn it off or on with the little button on the end of your turn signal.

Probably worth a dealer visit to sort it out if the sensor is free and clear of debris.
Sorry, I tapped the wrong tab in the manual

Lane-Keeping System in a 2025 Ford Maverick XLT, press the button at the end of the left-hand turn signal stalk. The system offers Alert (vibration), Aid (steering torque), or Both modes to prevent drifting, adjustable via the instrument cluster menu. It works when the vehicle detects lane markings, showing green, grey, or red lines on your display.
Unless the sensor is out of alignment, the windshield wipers should automatically wipe the sensor clean.

Front windshield camera watches for lanes, check for poop, bug, etc. The yellow behind truck indicates, (I'm guessing, that you have settings for driver warning on and lane assist off). You might push the button on end of turn signal (it toggles lane assist on/off) and see what happens . I think the yellow vehicle in the screen with the red lane marker shows that after 100 miles it some other reason the lane assist has been cancelled with the red lane marker showing super close or over the lane pavement stripe. Try driving centered in the lane. it is harder to do than most people think.

I want to think you guys for all your help. I turned off the lane assist from the turn signal lever and have no more issues!

I got a notice for a recall on the trailer thing, so will have them look at it, but not really concerned about it as long as it stays off and the vehicle don't start swerving again.

I glad you found the switch.
You sure don't want that lane assist unexpectedly swerving you off the road.
