Hi all, I was looking for a Wildtopper main thread but didn't come across anything. I just installed my Wiltopper and bed liner with all the hooks and things. Just wanted to share some thoughts real quick. I've been driving tacoma's for years and have tried all the toppers, so wanted to give this load bearing style a shot.

My main take away's are, it's certainly awesome, is it perfect... no.

They have custom made bed rail clamps now, no more drilling holes or bolting in like the 1st run of these.

I would prefer the rear "hatch panel" to be replaceable like a softtopper. Bad design choice, it will certainly haze and crack like they all do.
2nd, it certainly leaks. We had a nice rain storm last night and had a bit of water come in thru the front area, I plan on removing and adding an actually gasket there, they should supply something. Most of the water is coming in under where the main frame makes contact with the bed, nothing thru the canvas.

I'd still buy it all over again honestly. It's a great little topper that is super light, once assembled it can be taken off and on by 1 person in a matter on minutes, so pretty low stakes + I can haul my Loangboard now :)

One other thing worth noting, the side access is super handy, probably better than going in thru the tailgate location.

I've got the same topper, been meaning to post it here for a while now. I've had it installed for about 4 months.

I agree about the water, all the ingress in mine is under the bar that mates to the fwd upper edge of the bed. I haven't put a gasket there or anything because there's nowhere else for that water to go, and the water that comes in ends up almost directly at the bed drain holes.

Also, I've put 303 uv protectant on the plastic window, and 303 fabric guard on the canvas. I recommend both to extend the life of the top.

I ordered some 303, that's a great idea.

We had another rain storm last night and the bed filled up with water... at this point I have to take some corrective action. The foam that comes on the on the contact rails from wildtop is pretty worthless, its thin and hard, so does not conform to any gaps or voids that the mav bed top has.

I got some cheap frost king v447h camper mounting tape to try, I've had good luck with it in the past.

I'll report back on how it works.

Good luck! Mine only has water ingress on the very front edge, and it goes into the bed drain holes. Might wanna check your drain holes if you’ve got standing water.

I suggest watching this video. I just finished following the video and it works.

Very helpful video, not sure how I feel about routing the water somewhere the engineers didn’t route it…but I guess if your bed needs to stay bone dry there’s not much else you can do.
