i preferred the mega clamps no drillings. i rather pay the extra. rack wind deflector is necessary to mute any wind noise at any speed. its like $70 with tax from amazon. small price to pay for no wind noise.
It's more for noise reduction along with the tube crossing in front of the air flow coming up from the windshield.
without ladders just the rack itself maybe .5 to 1 mpg loss. when im loaded with tools and materials and ladders. i will expected 3-5 mpg loss for sure. easily 500-800 lbs.

What brand of parts did you use for this?There's the beef. That rack will increase the utility of your truck incredibly. For lumber, ladders, long pieces of anything. Works as a chase rack too. You can hold on to any one of those bars and it will not move.
Rack-it racks are the most heavy duty around and the mega clamps are the strongest most secure, removable clamping systems out there.
However, it will be noisy at highway speeds and removal takes two strong men and a place to store the rack. Gas mileage may suffer.
There are options. The truck is unibody and the bed does not move separately from the cab. So you can use crossbars mounted to the roof and avoid the big cantilever. Crossbars can also be easily removable when not in use. Here is my implementation. All four crossbars are at the same level.
The basic answer I've found is no. If you're the creative type, you might be able to get it to work with an in-bed tonneau but it's going to very tight and probably not work at all.
