As I understand it no matter how many orders a dealer took he’s only gone to have so many , Mavericks chosen that he has allocations for , if he took 75 orders and he only has 40 allocations 35 not built ,
I’m not gonna get built

Sorry to hear that. Is your order special or different so you know it won't get built? I know there is a list of 'constraints' someplace here that might help.

You can talk to your dealer about what exact items might cause you to be delayed or canceled.

You should also ask them what priority code they assigned you. You would want to be a '10' if they will do that for you.

Yeah, i mean that is what the allocation system means. If you’re an ecoboost you may have a shot. But generally a lot of hybrid orders won’t be built because of allocations.

I was one of the first orders at my dealer but who knows they could have put every subsequent order at a lower priority, since i was 19. You just never know, which is why i have no confidence in getting the vehicle.

I just spoke to my sales rep to get some clarification on the process. My order was accepted but I did not receive direct confirmation from Ford and obviously no build date.

I currently have a Bronco Sport and only decided to order the Maverick for the fuel efficiency of the hybrid. I can be patient.

However, that said, Ford is missing out on managing expectations via email updates, etc ... Or, do they still view dealerships as the customer, not the individual car buyer?

To Ford, the dealers are their customers and you are a no-body. You will get a generic e-mail every 45 days saying "sorry for the unfortunate delay that is the fault of global supply chain" but pretty much nothing else.

If you ordered an Ecoboost, there is a very high likelihood of your truck being built at some point this year (if you are currently a Priority 19 as a new order, figure roughly the June-July timeframe). If you ordered a hybrid (especially an XL hybrid), then your chances of ever getting the truck are really, really small. I ordered an XL Hybrid on Oct 1, 2021 (and thus a Priority 10 at re-order time) and currently put my chances at ever getting it at less than 30%.

Yeah, figure every Ecoboost order will be built. They have the capacity and won't tell an order holder for an EB "sorry dealer is out of allocations". May take a while but it'll be built.

For Hybrid could be a real issue.

Ford doesn't know exactly how many orders they can build. The large dealers on here got hundreds of Mavs last year even though they didn't technically have allocations for them at the beginning.

I mentioned in another post, early in production, allocations matter. Later in production, constraints and profitability matter more. This is how it went in MY 22. You know Ford is going to build something and sell it if they can. They aren't going to leave money on the table just because a dealership used all their original allocations if that dealership has orders that can be built.

but I did not receive direct confirmation from Ford
If you did not get an email from Ford it's because your dealer either did not enter your email into the order or entered incorrectly. You should get that fixed asap. Either at your dealer or call Ford direct.
The other explanation is that despite saying it was "accepted" your dealer never entered the order at all. You should be getting emails from Ford.
However, that said, Ford is missing out on managing expectations via email updates, etc
Ford has sent emails to all confirmed order holders and have committed to sending you an update every 45 days. If you have not received an email you need to call Ford and make sure they have your email correct. That won't get you any of the older emails but you should start getting updates.
Or, do they still view dealerships as the customer, not the individual car buyer?
Yes, the dealer is their customer not you. But they are trying to change that. So far it has not gone super well, but hoping they are learning.

Looking at the threads of 22s that rolled over to 23s, there were mostly Hybrids, but also plenty of EBs. Not sure ordering an EB guarantees anything.

If your dealer has 75 orders and 74 of them are priority 10 but have constrained items and you are priority 19 and do not have ANY constrained items and if your dealer has one or more allocations you can win that slot!!!! If he has two allocations then one might go unfilled, or maybe he gets an inventory maverick. I do not know....

Might dump the mats. But otherwise I'd say you have a good chance. hybrid or eco boost?

As a hybrid order i am already majorly constrained.
It’s whatever, i have made other vehicle plans.
