Aftermarket Hitch Recommendations?

I dropped the trailer hitch on my hybrid to get a faster build and apparently it worked and my truck is being shipped. I priced the hitch at the dealer and it came out a little higher than I wanted. So, has anyone put on an aftermarket hitch? Looking for any recommendations on aftermarket hitch options. I know it is not a towing machine, but I would like to pull a lawn mower or maybe an empty horse trailer now and then. (We have a Silverado to pull the horses.) Is there a pre-engineered point to take off the trailer lights, or do I have to tap into the wiring harness?

Deciding if it is worth 850 to just tell the dealer to do it. Thanks.

If you're going aftermarket, I'd recommend Curt. It mounts similar to the factory hitch, others may hang below the bumper. They also have a plug & play wiring harness, although you do need to run to the battery for a 12V feed.

Would it be possible to use the 30amp fuze position labeled "After Market Brake Controller" instead of battery pos & (not neg battery post) ground?

You might try pricing the OEM receiver and getting installation estimates for it from RV places or even body shops.

I don't know. How would you access that location, considering how the under-hood fuse box is designed?
