Thank you! That might be the easiest, and most cost-effective DIY way to go!! Is it not reasonable to assume that the crash bar and the factory hitch have the exact same specs, with the exception that one has a ball-mount receiver welded onto it? I'll get under my Maverick to see if there's a flat surface on the crash bar to accept it.

Sorry to jump in on this thread for my first post but I am currently outfitting a 23 Maverick XLT with accessories and I just purchased the Curt hitch since the truck didn’t come with it. My family and I are big into the Ford lineup of vehicles I have an F150 and Expedition and currently added a Maverick out of luck. My father in law ordered one and fell into financial trouble and couldn’t purchase it so I wasn’t going to let it go knowing how popular and cool these trucks are. I figured maybe I would sell it (I could have flipped it quickly) or keep it for my business (insurance agency). I decided to keep it and put my logo on it. I also have a small 6x10 enclosed trailer that is wrapped that I take to local events for my business, I want to pull that with the truck but he didn’t order it with hitch or towing package. I did my research and got the Curt hitch since it seemed to be the best aftermarket hitch. I am now in the stage of what to do for the 4 pin connector, I know Curt, Reese, and Tekonsha make kits but don’t know what to do or what others have done. I also don’t necessarily like cutting the panel in the middle of the bumper but haven’t seen any other options. Looking forward to all the great info on here.

I believe the factory hitch is welded on the crash bar not bolted on.

Sounds like the biggest issue is the wiring, I would try the Curt.
The whole crash bar is the hitch. Bolted on.

Start at this thread (search is your friend).

This isn't hard, but if you're not comfortable working on trucks may want a pro to do it.
