Well as a fellow audiophile I am definitely interested, my "in my head plans" for now to install a media player below the AC controls like an Alpine ILX-407, new door components probably focal or morel. Rear seat delete with 2 15's (if I can fit them) 4 channel amp for the mids/highs and of course a mono block for the subs. This is of course after adding sound deadener, acoustic foam and MLV to the cab and doors of the maverick. When mine finally gets built. No, we're not in that business. The Stinger unit I linked to in my original post, I think, is the best solution for a project like this because the screen is thin and connects to a control module via a single wire similar to the OE radio on the Maverick where the screen connects to the APIM behind the A/C controls. There will be some customization around the bezel installation to hold the screen, but I don't think it will be too difficult.
I'm doing this for a couple reasons that I care about but others may not. First is that the Stinger unit allows for the connection of up to four cameras to give me a nice view around the vehicle as-needed. I'll be able to retain the OE backup camera via simple RCA adapter but then I can add a camera to the front, one on both sides, or maybe a high-mount camera pointing into the bed. Second is that it has an actual HDMI input which I can connect my phone to for the mirroring everyone keeps talking about, but I can also connect a variety of other smart devices like an AppleTV or XBOX. And third is that the unit has video outputs so if I install headrest monitors, or an overhead monitor, I can control the video to them from the dash.
