I just picked up a 2024 XLT hybrid. It takes me back to my first Ford hybrid, a 2005 Escape. That car has 212,000 miles on it and still keeps going.
I am wondering if anyone has added a tach to the Maverick XLT. Why add a tach, you ask? I like to keep track of things!

You can see the tach in the ET menu. Hold down OK button on steering wheel and go to ACC/On .ET will pop up on cluster. Toggle to RPM screen.

Or add a muti-feature OBDII scanner device to look at about 75 items.

You can use a phone, tablet, or a stand alone device.

Hint: you'll be watching battery charge level more than RPM.

What knowledge do you hope to gain from RPM?

I like having a tachometer as well. Just a preference.

while this is true, it's not really feasible to use engineering test mode while driving at all, let alone daily normal routines.

I certainly agree that the usefulness/value of a hybrid seeing rpm is questionable, but if you want to see anything at all I would suggest either a Banks iDash or a Scan Gauge depending on how big you want this display to be, and where you want to place it.

(edit) also, both of these obd2 gauges and many others like them can display information that is much more useful. on my cobb accessport I display boost pressure, charge temp, knock octane modifier, gear, transmission temp and engine oil temp. at least 3 of those are not applicable to a hybrid, but I am sure hybrids do have useful unique sensor values of their own such as HV battery temp.
