Just sharing ... spend a lot of time on Oahu...lived there 3 yrs. A cousin on the Big Island was on a vacation in Huntington Beach and bought a "used" 2023 Tacoma and simply had it shipped to Oahu. Arrived in 20 days. Might be worth some calls to California or some other mainland dealers.
Funny thing sort of related to this. Service motors ("servco") has so much power and is so tight with Toyota Japan that West Coast Toyota dealerships often refuse to sell you a Toyota if they know you are going to ship it back to Hawaii, lest they anger the powers that be. I know some police officers who have gone to the Midwest to get their discounted Toyotas lol.

Howzit all! New here, first time posting.

I placed an order for a 2024 XL Cactus Gray Hybrid through Cutter Ford this past weekend. MSRP for my build came out to around 27K. My price was 31K. My only options were the spray-in bed liner and the all weather mats.

I knew from prior research that I was in for a wait, but after reading around here, I'd be surprised if I get my truck at all, lol. Oh well, we'll see I guess. Nothing yet from Ford. Let the waiting begin....

BTW, did anyone here from the islands actually get their truck? How long did you have to wait? From what I've been reading here, XL Hybrids seem to be one of the hardest to get, but I see them running around all the time. There's one right up the street from my house. lol

Almost half the Mavericks on Maui are hybrids. I just got my XLTremor here last week but bought it in Granger Iowa for just over $29k and had it shipped. I waited about 19 months for it.

I ordered from cutter Ford in July 2021 right around when you could first order. I got my truck April of last year. So at least my wait was under a year? Lol.

That's not too bad, actually. At least you got your truck. Sales guy at Cutter told us that they rolled over 20 something orders from 2022 that didn't get fulfilled.

Have you guys upgraded your tires? Where and what are you folks grabbing for Oahu traffic?

I finally got my XLT back in Jan 2023. I do see some on occasion driving around, mostly Hybrids also.

I am not at that place where I can discard the OEM tires just for the sake of upgrade, so I still have the stock Continental tires. I will replace them at or around 4/32 and I reckon I have another year or so before I get there. I value performance (including wet pavement capability... and light weight bc hybrid) and value about equally... But I'm not like gonna go cheap just to go cheap. For my use case I don't need off road capability. I drive on unimproved roads/gravel only once in a very long while and never anything major.

Right now my plan is to time my purchase with one of Goodyear service centers' free install plus some minor discount sale that they seem to have a couple times a year and buy Cooper Endeavor Plus in the OEM size. In a perfect world, Costco will start selling Firestone destination le3 before I need to replace tires and I would buy that during one of their rotating rebate deals... In factory size, they only weigh 23lbs! But I am not optimistic they will ever carry it, though.
