I turned them around, but there is too much gap. I saw how much the lariat head restraints cost. There has to be another solution. Maybe a neck pillow that keeps the head straight? If the lariat head restraints work, it will be worth the expense in the long run. I'd spend more with regular visits to a physical therapist. Maybe Ford had a better idea in the beginning when it was just wind it up and go!

The head restraint design spec that another forumer posted (Phimosis) shows the seat leaned pretty far back and the body in the seat had their head and shoulders tilted forward (i.e. slouching). If that's your posture, the headrests work great. If you sit upright and don't slouch much the head restraint tends to force your head and neck forward and down, there is NO gap between my head and headrest in my preferred seating position. See below.

For me, the seat back is much more upright, you can see just how far back those seats are leaned in the pictures to get that gap.

I tried a few headrests options, a prior model year tremor lariat with a tilt function of the headrest itself was better, but still not perfect. I ended up just flipping my headrest around which is ultimately too far back, but better than nothing and better than feeling like my head is getting pushed forward. See the passenger seat below for a comparison of the two headrests.

To get that passenger headrest upright, you need to lean the seat PRETTY far back.

I tend to sit more on the straight up side. The gap is when I turn the headrests around, but I was thinking those neck pillows the go onto the headrest may be what is needed. Less to invest if they do not work.
