Has anybody here added at 120 Volt plug to the bed of there Maverick in the panel that depending on the packages you can get from the factory a 120 volt plug? In other words if you didn't (I didn't) can you add a 120 volt outlet in the same place the factory puts that outlet?

There's PLENTY of room in the rear drivers' fender behind the panel. I'm thinking of installing a 12vdc gel battery and a 1200w inverter in there, with a weatherproof outlet behind the panel. Biggest engineering feat will be where to mount a rack to hold the battery. Also, it will have to be installed from underneath. I'll use a battery isolator so the coach battery won't drain the starting battery when using the outlet while the truck is off.

With the factory inverter you’re not going to be able to power much of anything. If you intend to power something research bigger better inverters than the weak factory one. There’s been several threads on the subject in years past

Put a power station (appropriate size according to need ) in bed of maverick . problem solved for 120 volt needs . I have a 300 watt ( paid $90) and 1500 watt power station (paid $360) for emergency here in Florida . Also have Honda 2000 inverter/ generator for emergency purposes . Also used for previous camping with rv trailer .

One of the threads mentioned this 12vdc to 120vac 3000W pure sine wave inverter.
Its $199 & right now theres a $69 off coupon
- that got me off the fence, $140 for 3000Watts sine wave.

This is really good for the hybrid model, there's a thread here on how to connect, you connect the inverter to your standard 12vdc battery poles, you are piggybacking off the existing hybrid system where as the 12VDC battery discharges it is recharged by the 240VDC traction battery,& (if the ignition is on) when the traction battery level drops too low, the PCM switches on the ICE to run the motor-generator hybrid-drive & recharge the big traction battery.

There's an article on here somewhere how to wire it up, I think they suggested connecting to inline diodes used by portable solar cell battery charging just to isolate the new inverter so if something shorted to ground, any damage would be limited to the new inverter & not further upstream
