I learned to use ACC with stop and go in a 2020 Escape. The only hiccup I ran into is it would sometimes fail to immediately resume from a dead stop but a touch of the gas pedal always corrected that without reset. This was over months of tri weekly trips in and out of the metro Cleveland area during high traffic times. It took some time to get comfortable with it but never took it for granted.

Other car makers make good stuff but you'd be a fool to assume any one of them has a lock on the best systems. Ford has been optioning ACC on premium models since 2010 if not earlier. If there were any inherent issues with the system it would be internet legend by now.

Most generic issues with ACC, all brands
Bad weather that affects road visibility.
Moisture on the inside or outside of the windshield.
Blocked or dirty radar sensors or cameras. Happened to me once, slushed up and auto disabled.
Poor lighting.
Or in other words environmental.
🤓 Great info thanks.

Think about this. You read this form before it changes. What prompts you to look at it again.
My sales person was earnest. He did not say Adaptive cruise control included until he talked to others first. Obviously their is mass confusion. Heard of exact experience by others. Too repetitive for their not to be an environmental cause. I was not provided the sales sticker? Not on vehicle? That is on the dealership for we asked for it and still have not received it. Makes me wonder about the $2,000 worth of options visibly included and now part of standard offering too… This one is an I think? Just another bummer life experience.

You are about 11 months late to this particular blame-Ford party.

If YOU think it is overpriced, for heaven's sake, why did you buy it? I love my 2023 Lariat Hybrid (with ACC, because I paid attention), and my 2024 Lariat Hybrid (also with ACC) for my wife is scheduled for a build next week. Two 40+ MPG loaded Lariat trucks for about $67k. That isn't overpriced in my book.

Your issue is over and done. Casting blame anywhere isn't going to make it better. Sell it if you regret buying it.
🤓 If issue is over then why is it still bubbling? And on how many Ford vehicles? 11 months ago? That just makes it worse.

I appreciate my new Ford Maverick, it is very nice. Not in love with it, though. Especially when I take a drive to Punta Gorda, like this day. Miss the ACC. Florida traffic is crazy.

I appreciate your comments. They help. Thanks.

I'm really glad (and surprised) your dealer has stepped up and making it right for you. I don't think 360 Assist is a cheap install after the fact. I know the $1000 will go a long way toward his expense but, probably fall well short of his cost. There are many others in the situation on this forum and this is the first time I've heard of the dealer stepping up like this.
🤓 I agree. But fearful until what might be a complicated install, is complete. But my wife not so happy.

amazing that MTC members knew of the changes and dealers did not,

except the bulk of that "insider information" comes from people inside dealerships 🤷‍♂️

It is over. Long ago over.

You can not order a 2023 Lariat now, and have not been able to do so since 9/2022...OVER A YEAR AGO.

You are trying to beat a dead horse that Ford "fixed" by putting all of this in the 2024 Lariat orders so that neither dealers nor customers can screw it up again.

Of course, that brought out the whiners that they didn't want some of the now-included pieces that they were able to buy separately in 2022 and 2023, yet were somehow "forced" to do so.
🤓Sorry but I disagree. There is lots and lots of 2023 Ford Mavericks sprinkled all over the US. Long term orders are commonly abandoned. So when they finally show up the dealership places on internet for sale. Lots and lots are out there, but they are selling like hot cakes. Just look at internet. That is how I found several. Often sold until I finally got one. I have talked to multiple dealership. This confusion still exists and is migrating into multiple purchases each day. Probably each hour.

Well, the very last of the 2023 orders either were finished being built last week or early this week. That will mark the end of any Lariat without ACC, as they now move on to the 2024 orders (starting Wednesday, 10/18, was the last I heard). This anomaly just effected first the 2022 rollovers, then the 2022 cancelled/rollovers (I was in this group), and then all new 2023 Lariat orders from the September 2022 order window.

My "jury" is out on ACC, however, after an experience with my wife following me on our sparse-traffic highways. Interstate 90 in Wyoming is an 80 MPH highway, and it is not uncommon to come upon to someone driving 55-60 mph. I did, and my ACC (set at maximum range) dutifully dropped me from 80 to 60 very quickly, with full regenerative braking (but no service brakes). My brake lights never went on, since regen does not trigger them, and surprised my wife who could not see why I dropped from 80 to 60.

It makes me spend more time worrying about getting rear-ended. I'd leave it off, except then I have to contend with a damned warning screen that the cruise I am then using is not ACC and I have to acknowledge the warning to see my screen again. So I'm not a believer yet. I've tried to allow it to stop me when coming upon traffic stopped for a light, but it does NOT stop soon enough for my liking. Still, I guess it is progress.

you went off the rails quite a few replies ago, but now you're really reaching.

if there is a maverick for sale anywhere, at a dealership or otherwise, the exact options on it are not a mystery. the window sticker will say adaptive cruise, or not. in the grille, you will easily see the rectangular radar sensor, or not.

just because you mistakenly bought a maverick without ACC, and you thought you were getting ACC, does not mean there's an issue. certainly not one where anyone could have a class-action lawsuit, and there's a real need to inform the public.

🤓 When my children misbehave at school it is my responsibility. For the bad actions and resolutions. Improper resolution exists for me for I purchased a miss represented product.

I don’t blame dealerships. In my previous occupation I installed and maintained new equipment on a regular basis. I could not be familiar with all. If something was important for me to know, the sales person would personally tell me. Usually over lunch. Ford Corporate owns all the the existing and evolving mis deeds.
Evidently, you aren't very good at researching major purchases. Ford sent order guides to the dealers highlighting the changes from 2022. The 360 Assist could be added to an order up until it had the VIN assigned for production. The fault lies entirely with you and your dealer since many others knew about it. Mine has it. The dealers are independent franchisees and Ford can't make them read or understand the information they send to the dealers.
I've had 5 new vehicles in the last 10 years and the Maverick is the only one that had ACC but I somehow managed to drive without it.

🤓 Radar appears visibly included. All supporting hardware appeared visibly except steering column button. I placed my eyes on and have touched many 2023 Mavericks and sales personnel on multiple occasions said more on the way in transit. Available for purchase now. I know what I experience, not sure about anything I here.

🤓 I have a bad back and have lost over 20% feeling in right leg. With the traffic build up in Florida I have come to really appreciate the Adaptive Cruise control option. And now the Auto Hold on stop on my new Maverick Lariat.

you are wrong. there is not, nor will there ever be, a truck that has not been modified and it has the ACC radar in the grille and also is missing the steering wheel button and ACC functionality.

it didn't happen. you might have seen an image of a truck that had the ACC module in the grille. and if it's an online sale listing, it could have been wrong in a variety of other ways. (all the thumbnails for Mustangs at my local dealership show as the same azure blue; they're unsurprisingly a range of colors.)

you made a mistake in your purchase. there is no grand conspiracy. the first people who thought they had ACC just because they had Lariat Lux on a 2023 Maverick, but actually didn't have 360 Assist, found this out in late December of 2022. this nuance of MY23 has existed a whole year.

we can all move on now. (y)

New owner and site user wondering how wide spread is the misunderstanding of Adaptive Cruise on the 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. Many be unaware. This option will auto slow and speed up per a pre set distance of cruising vehicles in front of you. It seems to be standardly included in past and now future builds, as it should be and was on my low end Toyota Camry LE Trade in. Also on our Highlander and on most all our family vehicles. I asked on purchase if it was included, for no vehicle sticker provided. Sales person and all at dealership thought it was included. I provided info from manual and vehicle pictures because I could not find a way to turn the Adaptive cruise control on. They discovered 360 package evolved into 360 Assist Package, which I did not have after all. 360 in my mind and obviously others, implies it is included. l have heard of others havIng similar experience and wondering how wide spread this phenomenon?
🤓 Update concern. I just noticed the attached on Ford.com this day. 2023 Co-Pilot mention again by ford corporate to include everything. No mention of Assist modification for a breakup of “360” where it does not include full circle everything. So the confusion continues. Why?

it clearly says "available adaptive cruise control".

not standard. not included. on any car, available means it's an option you can select. you didn't, and you are desperately trying to avoid the obvious explanation that you made a mistake.

🤓 I can see how it could be read that way if you knew it was an option. First read makes it sound like “now with” available ACC, instead of “when” available. Totally misleading verbiage and is exactly what my sales person and other dealership personnel we’re looking at when responding to my initial query. Ford corporate has a responsibility to make clear a change in a product offering instead of trying to advertise it both ways. Plain and simple false advertising.
