Adaptive cruise control

Hi Everyone,
Going to place my order tomorrow but can’t seem to understand one thing

The only way to get adaptive cruise control is via the lariat lux trim? There is no way of outfitting an xlt with adaptive cruise? Really bites if that’s the case- I like the xlt the best but will be commuting in traffic often and want adaptive cruise control.

If you're mechanically/electrically savvy it's possible to retrofit. Otherwise, correct, no way to spec from the factory.

I’ve looked at the install and I don’t think I’d be willing to tackle that… seems like I would mess it up somewhere along the line.

It was one of the reasons that went with the Lariat Lux for the stuff in the Co-pilot360Assist, B&O sound system and the ActiveX seats. The bed stuff and other things did not have strong desires for at the time. @VeryFrugaldeiver

ACC was a required line item for me. But I am also not planning to buy another truck ever again. So, I was willing to pay the extra cost. Plus, I live in Alabama and you would think a heated steering wheel would be useless... until you need it. Wife's Escape has it and I thought it was a gimmick until the first time I enjoyed it being there. Lariat Lux all the way!

Not only do you need to order the Lariat + Luxury package, but you also have to add both "CP360" and "CP360 Assist" packages.

Or take matters into your own hands and try to order all the parts yourself, add them, and hack the vehicle settings accordingly. There's a separate (very detailed and well written) thread on this here on MTC showing how to add ACC to an XLT Hybrid with the Lux package.

I believe ACC is one of the constraint items. This may be a way of dialing back the backlog as well as pushing the up sell.

I have ACC on my 2017 RAV4. Wish it was on everything I own that has wheels.
I ordered Lariat Lux and bot CP360 packages to get ACC.
It's my kid's inheritance money, so what do I care?

I've had cruise control for decades and never turn it on. But my wife flatly refustes to drive a car without ACC and the whole suite of modern driver assist features.

I will say that when it's time to lift that juicy Burger King bacon cheeseburger to my lips while driving (I know I shouldn't drive and eat, but I sometimes do), both ACC and lane keep assist come on and I happily pig out in somewhat increased safety to myself and others.

I went with the Lariat expressly for ACC (and push-button start, to be honest).
