there's no need to do it because there is a lot more room behind the rear bench. The angle of the backrest creates a fairly deep space at the bottom and a Kicker HS10 fits.

at best, you might be able to squeeze in a MTX Terminator 8" under a front seat. I put one under the seat in my son's SUV. the little MTX is better than nothing, but it's way less impressive than a HS10.

(edit) if you meant in the bins, you can do that too, but you're giving up the bin basically for nothing. it fits behind the seat backrest and then you can use the bin for other cargo.

I have heard Rockville several times and if I'm polite I would say you get what you pay for, and I'd pay more for a Kicker HS10.
I really appreciate your post and agree with your assessment of using the space behind the back seat. I tried my Rockville behind the seat and under the back seat. It just sounds better under the seat and that is after I put sound insulation on the rear of the cab behind the seat. Maybe that's just because of the small 6" x 8" size of the sub. Although, it's small size allows it to fit on the center hump under the back seat, so the bins remain for my storage use.

Back in my younger days I could afford just about any sound systems made, so my choices were Bose 901s, Kenwood, etc. At least back in my day those were extremely popular and somewhat premium brands. I'm now in my late 70s and the fact is that I do not want to spend $370 for a Kicker HS10, nor do I want to spend $8,000 for an Adire Audio Parthenon subwoofer regardless how impressive.

I would love to have Kicker equipment, but Rockville and other brands are a great trade off vs. the price. When deciding to upgrade the sound system, I spent several months researching and listening to different systems. So, I bought what I liked at the price I could afford. I spent about $100 for a Rockville RW68CA. All I want from a sub is to fill out a balanced sound in the lower frequencies and this cheap Rockville does a great job. And the fact I can do that with a 6" x 8" sub is amazing. Shoot, If I could've found a source for a 5-1/4" sub to purchase, I really enjoyed listening to, I would have purchased it. I just don't need a sub that has great specs, response, and clear sounds at louder volumes. I don't listen to my music loud nor for the thump and neither impresses. But that's just me.

We should all remember, sound quality is highly subjective. To put a little perspective on that thought, I'm sure someone that purchases a quality Rockford Fosgate T2S1-16, Cerwin Vega SPCL152, or an exceptional $8,000.00 Adire Audio Parthenon Subwoofer would immediately dismiss the Kicker brand. We all choose our sound based on our own perspective.

You are right about a Kicker HS10. It is a great subwoofer, but saying that, If I could justify spending the money on a Kicker, I certainly would. But hey, I drive Mi Camión Azul about 3,500 miles a year. Although, I would love to drive more, there is no need, so I don't spend much time in it. So, the bottom line, I got what I paid for and it pleases me to no end.;)

Nice, I was going to ask for an update. After installing the Infinities, I definitely need more low end. Thinking of going with the Rockville powered 10". I was just curious is there a reason why I don't see a lot if people putting these subs under the seat(s)?
colinl is correct about the unused space behind the back seat. As I said in my post in reply to colinl, I tried my sub behind the back seat and it just sounds better under the back seat. The small size may have something to do with that. I have mine installed under the back seat on the center hump along with sound insulation. The Puzu DSP Amp works great under the driver's seat but even my Rockville 6" x 8" sub is too big to fit properly under either front seat. At least not without sticking out some.

Let me know which sub you choose and how you mount it.

I was leaning towards the Rockville SS10P, but I was also eyeing the Cerwin Vega 10" on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5LBQT...0CUVHG9I&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it. Wanted to go just a little bigger because I listen to rock and EDM.

it's actually just a decent subwoofer, but it is one of the better powered subs that fits in a Maverick.
the custom box I built, which fits in one of the under-seat tubs, performs dramatically better.

but back to your Rockville, I'm sure it is meeting your needs. (y)

Same, but I've been out of the game for a while, wasn't sure if it was still the same quality level as it used to be.
Me either...but, I don't think that they have gone the way of Harman Kardon, Marantz, Kenwood, etc. it's seems as if Chinese ownership of these brands have turned them into a regular consumer brand with few truly quality products. The Infinity Reference speakers I bought are nice speakers for the money, but let's not kid ourselves, they are not the speakers they were 30 or more years ago.

Have you seen what brands are under the Harman Corporate logo now. They have JBL, naturally Harman Kardon, AKG, Infinity, Crown, DBX, something called Soundcraft, and other accessory brands. Harman actually makes the ACMs found in our Ford Mavericks. They make one for the European market that comes with many more features than found in our Mavericks. From what I understand it is a plug and play swap...if you could find one to buy. I searched for months, and couldn't get anyone to ship it to the US.

Brands are often a convuluted mess these days.

I've got everything together but the sound deadening and the wiring kit. I'm thinking 8g will fine. Thoughts? I went with the cerwin Vega btw.

ecoboost cable run is somewhere around 12-14 feet depending on where you connect.

8 ga is definitely enough for just a powered sub whether it's pure copper or copper clad aluminum. if you're using an amp for the front doors and dash components you'll want 4 ga CCA but 8 ga pure ofc is likely still good enough.

chart and article here. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-kBPKVt2hPb1/learn/learningcenter/car/cable_gauge_chart.html

I have 4ga CCA. the Scosche kit is cheap on Amazon just bear in mind it isn't pure copper. since I'm still using my b&o factory amp it's only used by my sub amp so it's way more than enough.

I liked what Cerwin Vegas that I listened to while trying to decide what after market speakers to purchase. I know lots of Maverick owners have purchasae Cerwin Vega speakers to replace factory, so that must tell us something about their quality. Good choice.

No, I did use the Infinity provided mounting brackets and they matched up to the Ford mount with no problem. Sorry if I misled you there. You should not have to buy the mounting bracket since one comes with the Infinity speakers. Although, it is some you should confirm before buying your speakers.

You are correct, Crutchfield does not show Maverick compatibility with the REF-6532IX; however, they bolt up directly to the Ford speaker mount. Both front and rear. I suspect Crutchfield withheld compatibility because the Infinity speakers do not match up with the speaker baffles on the trim. That is where I used the speaker gasketing material to ensure the sound was directed through the baffle.

Keep in mind you will need the Metra Electronics 72-5602 4-Way Speaker Harness Connector for Ford & Mazda Vehicles for the front speakers only. I had to add speaker wire spade connectors for the rear speakers slicing in a pigtail that fed the new 4 x 6 speakers. There is a small diameter and larger diameter spade connector on each rear speaker. I soldered mine, but a crimp connection is fine if it is done securely.

Don't worry about being a pain...I don't mind answering question.
I ordered the same rear speakers and the 72-5602 harness.
Is there a reason you did not us this harness on the rear speakers?
