Has anyone noticed cold air blowing when normal ambient setting should not have AC on? No max, no AC, no auto, fan only. 2024 Lariat.

Sometimes the computer will turn on the compressor in an attempt to lower the cabin humidity. Or maybe when the computer gets confused. Lotsa gremlins in these trucks.

And on the Hybrid, I was told it may occasionally run to lower the HV battery temp. Never seen this happen, though. Not applicable in OP's case...

Thanks, so there is a hygrometer in the circuit?

Most vehicles will run the AC compressor in defrost mode to dehumidify the air.

I'm confused. Your profile says you live in Georgia. Unless you are setting the cabin temp to 85F, its gonna need to use the AC compressor. It hasn't been below 78 here for over a month! AC is pretty much always needed from April through November. Mine is always on and it is appreciated.

Reply to multiple threads. Cold air was not coming out of defrosters but driver facing vents. Yes, outside air was well above 80, which should have been temp of exiting air from vents. In actuality it was noticeably cold air from front driver facing vents. All lamps said no AC was on. If AC button is not pushed (no light), cold air was not exiting whether thermostat set at low or high. I'm leaning towards gremlins!

Others beat me to it - you likely and inadvertently hit the defog button for the windshield.

Just had that happen in my wife's NX300 - She could feel cold air but no light showing A/C was on. She had hit the defrost button.

Normal behavior per owners manual.

Just seems odd. I tested further this AM, started engine, no AC buttons on yet blowing cold air. It did turn off if I adjusted temp to HI and ON if adjusted to LOW. But again no AC lights on.
Seems like a waste of energy and mechanics if no lights on yet AC is running!

I agree. Turn off the entire climate system forces it off based on my experience. Just open widows instead of the fan.

I like to run the blower fan for 5 mins before parking without AC on to dry it off before sitting. This prevents that. Kinda annoying.

Turn the engine off, then run the fan. If the engine is off, the AC compressor shouldn't run. But the fan should still run with the ignition is on the accessory position. Not sure the proper sequence to make this happen with the push button start. Mine still has a key ignition.

Yes I have had this issue since I got mine new in October 2021. I don’t like to use the a/c but I like the vent and yes the air conditioning does run on/off during my morning commute (40 miles to work) and having not used the air conditioner for days. I can’t recreate it on demand but it happens pretty frequently 🤷‍♂️.
