Crazy, isn't it? Saw one on RV Trader this weekend for 69k when I was looking for some light weight trailers for my Maverick. These people are nuts. But there is always someone who wants that "special" trailer / vehicle.

That's one of those Australian companies that makes trailers for the outback, they probably do it best because when they go off-roading they are usually really out there alone with no nearby support, so they spare no expense on that stuff, custom off road suspensions, hitches, designed to ford through deep water crossings, that kind of thing.

We do the same sort of stuff here, there's a small group of outrageously expensive campers and motorhomes that are marketed to the "expedition" crowd, which is always fun to check out for some sticker shock. The difference in the US is most of those rigs are just overbuilt to show off wealth and are not really needed where they eventually get used, unlike the traditional Aussie scene.

They have these hitch setups now on certain "overland" US trailers as well.

Yea . I have 10x6 enclosed ramp door trailer ( standup height ) that I have about $2k in with up grades . queen Murphy style bed folds up against the the wall so motorcycle can be loaded . sliding screen door for side door . carpeted and has porta potty . basic camping . weight with motorcycle (Honda 700 ctx) under 2k. Trailer by itself is 1k lbs and MC is 500 lbs . works for me .
