Anybody have any complaints on their 8 inch screen? I have a hard time see anything on it unless it's cloudy and then it is not good. Is there a trick to up the brightness? My ex Escape was excellent for viewing with no problems.

The screen seems good enough. As most people here, I would prefer the useless cubby to go away to make room for a bigger screen. But as is is fine, I don't think there are any visibility issues with it.

i respectively disagree about the little 'cubby hole', i sorta dig it. to me it's reminiscent of the 'bud vase' that VW used to put in their Bugs. kinda useless, definitely quirky and cute however.

there's a quite cool thread on this site exploring what Mav owners are putting in theirs and also a lot of creative uses of this space for all kinds of stuff. like garage door opener holders and bespoke phone mounts and more. do a quick search for ' whats in your cubby hole' and i predict you'll see something you may like.

i have no visibility issues with the screen, i do miss being able to upload my own backgrounds like i could on my trade in, a 2014 Escape Titanium. i've only had my 23 Hybrid Lariat since late April and i'm already tired of looking at the same pale blue background. i agree 100% with wanting a larger infotainment screen but please dont get rid of the cubby hole. it's quirky little things like that that give a vehicle 'charecter.' here's whats in mine, a little garden gnome in a 'Buddha' pose that helps me stay calm when triggered by all those careless drivers we all hope to avoid but still encounter from time to time.

There is a bug with the brightness software that Ford wont acknowledge. (spoke to one of the engineers) If you try to brighten it, it will go to 50% from 0 and then stop brightening from 50%-100%. sometimes if you play with it for long enough you can get it to go to 60%, but that does not happen often. Its the only thing about my Mav I do not like. I have a '22 so its been the same bug since then.

This bug appears only in the Ford Audio system, and is not present in the trucks with SYNC. I have heard some have the bug in the bronco sport as well.

I've looked through those threads, and I honestly can't find a single useful thing to do with it. I don't need my phone in view since everything I need to see comes up on the display through AA. I could put a random figure or something. I think I'm going to try to install a display from a Crosair.

Your picture seems to be on a cloudy day.

On my sold MY22 Maverick on cloudy days the screen brightness is fine.

However on bright sunny day with the sun coming in the front windshield where you need to put down the sun visor to see the road in front the screen is way too dim to see.

My MY23 Maverick is currently in the Dallas Rail Yard and delivery should be soon. When it arrives I will test to see if the brightness settings can actually have any effect above 50%.
