At minimum, a shortage of anything plus inflation will likely make msrp sticker prices go way up.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m not responding to help you understand. And I’m not responding for the members who have been on here long enough to know better b/c they’ve been there done that and bought the tshirt. I’m responding so that newbies joining know where to get reliable information and how to ignore other dealer said /conspiracy theory posts that lack any substance and/or any facts.

Also, I would hope folks would understand that these posts/dealer rumors may have ulterior motives. Dealerships want to sow doubt b/c Ford is actively changing how consumers buy automobiles. Excess inventory almost exclusively benefits dealerships and hurts the manufacturer. And hidden fees, low tradein values, charges etc. puts the incentives in the pockets of the dealership not consumers.

Not to mention, these rumors create panic buying, which has no place in an automotive purchase. The truth is cheap magnesium from China hurts other producers and there’s no shortage that cannot be offset by local producers. That may raise prices over the short term but higher interest rates and reduced demand will create balance between supply and demand. And not to be too cynical but if I were China, producing less goods, slowing economy, more onshoring threats, and a ton of unused magnesium on hand, maybe creating rumors and trying to get it to catch on would be a great way to cash in on my magnesium hoard, lol.

Some of us keep track of things going on in the bigger world than the auto industry. It's not just rumors from dealers, this is what the suppliers of the goods are reporting. Tire companies management are also responsible to stockholders, not just Fords CEO/CFO. So the question is, who is lying? Ford or the tire manufactures? Maybe the rubber suppliers? Take a guess, when the tire makers, and the rubber suppliers say they cannot keep up with demand due to shortages, who are you going to believe? Ford or them? Ford has contracts, so they will get the supplies to build the trucks. No question about it, it's just a matter of time, it just might take longer than anyone at Ford, or us as consumers might be used to.

I'm not trying to argue, or try to be right, I'm simply asking a question. Can we trust any of them to tell the truth? They could all be lying for all we know, but it seems highly unlikely.

The problem with trying to be helpful is that it annoys others. I found a lot of understanding on this site, I also found a lot of misdirection and out right falsehoods. Others while being honest just pass on what they heard. Keep being you. Some will listen and some will hate, but honest helpful information is always appreciated by a lot of members.

Yeah but here’s the problem with that when faced with facts, you can’t just duck your head in the sand and ignore them, right? Good point about contracts, who’s in the best position to know if Ford has supply contracts with/without exposure to China, you or Ford’s CFO? People in those positions get paid millions of dollars in salary, bonus and options. They are incentivized to not do anything to jeopardize that by lying to investors. When there’s a problem, people like that don’t provide direct responses, they dance around the issue and say thing like we will look into it, or otherwise confuse the issue.

Tell that to the former CEO of Nissan. ;) My rule of thumb is to not trust a company any more than anyone else.

And I guess you watched Episode 17, where Tim/Fordvideogiy confirmed with Ford that if you have a confirmed order that it will be made for MY2022!

Yeah different set of facts, right? He was stealing from investors, different country, different jurisdiction and different set of rules.

The principle is that a CEO is just a glorified salesman, no different from what you encounter at a dealership. The only difference is that they are way better at it.

You are right icegradner. Just like the gov does not tell us everything that can panic the voters, corporations won't say things that can create panic with its voting shareholders.

Again, you’re trying to use Disney bucks at Caesar’s Palace. I see how you conveniently overlooked Elon Musk who did make a false material disclosure and was sued by the SEC

Huh? I never said anything about the Tesla playboy. Even a cheap salesman at the dealership can get caught for doing illegal stuff. There is nothing magical about a CEO, other than that they've managed to convince people that they are.

Obviously you’re too deep in the conspiracy theory. At least people have real facts and can make up their minds. Good luck and God Bless!

Please enlighten me, which conspiracy theory? That the world doesn't have an endless supply of stuff, and that shortages exist? If that makes me a conspiracy theorist, I guess I am? 😐

Congrats on making your first step, coming to realize you have a problem. Next one is to realize your life has become unmanageable.
