The new Ranger appears to have under-seat storage in the rear and no 60/40 split, just like the Maverick. AM I THE ONLY MFER ON EARTH WITH A CARSEAT?!?!?!?

No, you're not... And eventually, someone is going to make an aftermarket "split bench" upgrade for these trucks... I hope they sell a million of 'em!

The Maverick seat is a full bench not a 60/40 split like some others. So, if you have a car seat installed you have to remove the car seat in order to access the under-seat storage. It's not the end of the earth but it is a dumb design, and a 60/40 split would be a far better solution. Though I suppose somewhat more expensive than the bench.

It means you can't get to the underseat storage without removing the car seat. At least with a split bench you'd be able to access one side of the storage space.

60/40 split rear seat means you can have a child carseat "permanently" installed on the 40% side (or the 60% I guess), and still be able to lift/access the other side without removing the carseat.

EDIT: Apparently 2-3 other people were tying at the same time I was. ;)

I'm sure its all about cost.

At least (for most parents), it is a temporary thing. They will be in boosters before you know it.

It's more than that. You also can't get to the jack and tire change tools. That's kind of a big deal because you don't want your baby (or grandkid) sitting in a car seat on the side of the road while you change a tire. - In the dark, in the rain,... -

I, for the life of me, can't understand this missed opportunity by Ford to deliver to customers what they need. Do they think that all of humanity has gone sterile and is no longer producing offspring and therefore by extension aren't struggling with car seats... Clearly the wrong people overseeing this process. Very disappointed. Any hope of a 60/40 making it into MY2024 of the Maverick, or perhaps even te mid-cycle refresh are clearly dashed.. seeing how they overlooked this on the Ranger too. I mean c'mon! Honda has been getting this right since like the 1983 Accord!

Is anybody at Ford even listening to consumers anymore.... or are have they become so fat and satisfied they think we will all just pony up for a $60k F150 to gain the functionality we need. My god, it's like the 1970s maliase all over again.
