IIRC, in the state of California, you cannot use an extended warranty there, if you purchased out of state. There may be similar laws in other states.
Never heard of that before!

I might have missed it but I don't recall seeing any extra components or modules in the tail lights when watching videos of folks replacing the bulbs.

What do the ... complete... assemblies cost to include the CP360 radar sensor and other modules?

.
BLIS sensors are in the rear bumper. What other modules are you concerned over? Admittedly, I didn't watch the video and don't intend to. But to get people thinking that it's going to over $5000 for a simple tail lamp assembly is just gross.

I'll watch the video later but sounds like a creative way to get views.

Taillight can't be more than $400. Any sensors that people mention for 360 etc wouldnt be mounted in a removable maintenance capable item.

If they were 5k+ there would be a bunch driving around without them considering it's 2 mins to remove it...

F150 taillights can be up to $1600 for the lamp, roughly $1200 for the module, and then there’s the bracket and harness as well. If you crack one and any water gets in, it will fry the module and then things like your AC, radio, windows, etc won’t work anymore. It’s very common and we do one a week, at least. The mav just has regular assemblies.

Ya. Sucks. But it's true.
To do (insurance) business in CA there is a minimum of sales $$$ you have to do or have $$$ in assets. Keeps out the little guys.

Yep. That's why minor fender benders are totaling Mavericks. Also why I broke with a long-running custom and actually bought the ESP.
Funny and sad for you... ESP is not going to help you get parts. They'll be like six months out to get. And something like tail lamps you can't legally drive without, you're just as screwed as everyone else.

That is not accurate. Following that logic, no one could move to CA from out of state with an extended warranty and expect to use it. But that is not how it works.

The actual law says that only a vehicle seller licensed by CA DMV or an obliger licensed as a CA vehicle service contract provider can offer extended service plans within CA. But if you have dual residency and buy a contract out of state, or you move to CA with an extended service plan you bought somewhere else, or if you just travel out of state and buy a plan and come back, it is still a valid service plan.

Insurance code section 12815 https://law.justia.com/codes/california/2019/code-ins/division-2/part-8/section-12815/

The law applies to sellers only. It does not void any contracts that a buyer might obtain.

(y) Which is why I track it on my G2 Raptor... Zero water entries there... Good to know that the issue isn't pervasive to Mavericks...

Wow this thread is full of misinformation. Awesome.
WTF good is it doing on a Maverick forum?

A clickbait youtube video about a non-Maverick issue; random CA insurance sidenote that sounds incorrect with no backing; can we get some vaccine advice next?

Extended Service Plan… aka/ extended auto warranty With light add on. Granger Ford sells them $50 over cost and their good at all Ford Dealers nationwide.
Last time I was back in Iowa, I went to Granger and bought the ESP with light. $50 over cost. Worth it.

I was not paying attention and whacked a hammer off my drivers side tail light. Cracked it good. Ordered a replacement from Ford and installed it myself. $400 idiot lesson.

Didn't watch the video but no idea how he got to $5600 unless that was more than the tail light.
