4K Tow Package on FWD EB?

PER FORD LETTER TO DEALERS (BELOW) RE: SCHEDULING INFO FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 19:

• The 2022MY Maverick will no longer offer the FWD (W8E) with Trailer Tow Package (53Q).
• Also, until further notice, stock hybrid orders will not be selected for scheduling.
• Spoke to Ford via the number that’s been passed along (1800-334-4375). They verified that you indeed (now) have to add AWD to keep 4K tow package on all trims. She pointed out that it was “subject to change” and it has been changed.
• As for the website, since this is a recent change she said it would probably be updated on Ford.com at some point soon.

Seems like they think they might be getting one over on Ford but the reality is that the order will sit in some kind of purgatory and then a few months from now they'll be upset that nothing is happening with their order.

I had ordered the Luxury Package, but it was removed, and could not be re-added according to her and the regional manager who contacted Ford. Either way, I have no way of getting it now, unless I wait for one to land at a lot somewhere, but unlikely to get at MSRP or below.

This was completed by their sales manager and I even pointed out that I could not get the 4K tow package without adding AWD, she apparently was able to somehow. I'd be thrilled to get this, if somehow she could sneak it by. Should I leave it as is then and just see what happens?

NOTE: My dealer ordered the FWD with 4K in July. Took two months for Ford to catch up and email me and the dealer not available (press release online no builds for FWD 4K) and my dealer needed to reorder. Finally got a build date for Feb 18th.
