My EB order was placed last Thursday and the dealer informed me today that Ford would not allow them to add the Luxury Package, I think they are just covering themselves and made an error somehow, but either way, I can't add this to my order at this time.

I am trying to come up with a similar build with what they are able to add abd realize the heated seats/windshield/mirrors/steering wheel are only available with this package. The dealer is certain I can get the 4k Tow Package with the FWD version of the truck and they were able to add it. Should I leave it like this and see what happens or ask to replace with the 4-pin connector and hitch?

They cannot sell the 4k packages with front wheel drive. Must get 4x4

IIRC the lux pack is constrained so it's hard to get but not impossible. It will delay your build though. 4k towing is a good package. You get bigger radiator and cooling fan along with a transmission cooler which should help prolong the life of the trans even if you don't tow much. The higher diff ratio makes it quicker off the line but reduces mpg slightly. It's also the only way to get the trailer brake controller. If you will only ever tow a light trailer the cheap way out is just to add the trailer hitch for $100 and forget about the rest but at $745 4k towing pack brings a lot of capability, but you spend an additional $3300 adding AWD as well.

ETA I believe the invoice you posted is incomplete because it does not include the AWD charge.

I had ordered the Luxury Package, but it was removed, and could not be re-added according to her and the regional manager who contacted Ford. Either way, I have no way of getting it now, unless I wait for one to land at a lot somewhere, but unlikely to get at MSRP or below.

This was completed by their sales manager and I even pointed out that I could not get the 4K tow package without adding AWD, she apparently was able to somehow. I'd be thrilled to get this, if somehow she could sneak it by. Should I leave it as is then and just see what happens?

Are you actually trying to tow 4K with a FWD truck (not a good idea btw) or do you just want some of the features in the package? Either way I dont think you can get it in FWD as others have mentioned.

I think it's a glitch in the matrix allowing your dealer to do this. There was a stink a while back when they announced you can't get 4k with FWD. It might work, who knows? Maybe call ford and see what they say.

Nope, it will not be used to tow anything large, but nice to have the upgraded package if Ford allows it! :)

For shits and giggles I asked if she could add the FX4 package for the upgraded wheels, she couldn't, but I have a firm order with the 4k tow package.. Definitely thrilled to get that if it goes through in the end.

Definitely not going to go through, Ford had a PR mess last year after it decided that you could only order the 4k tow package with AWD and wound up giving customers who had ordered the 4K tow package with FWD a free AWD upgrade. Honestly, I would talk to your dealer before your order gets held up in some strange order purgatory because of the incorrectly spec'd combo.

Well they also dropped my Luxury Package today that I ordered on Thursday and verified over-the-phone, today stating that Ford didn't tell them they couldn't add packages later or something bizarre. So I don't disagree with you. I have a factory invoice from Ford too, so perhaps the Matrix is being kind to me on this day, I was livid about not getting the Luxury Package, to say the least.

FX4 is definitely only awd optional package and as for the fwd 4k package ford gave them awd for free for those who already ordered and then cut off that option no more fwd w/4k tow

Trust me on this one you cannot order a FWD Mav with the tow package. Even if your dealer "slips it through" your truck will never get scheduled for production by Ford. It will sit in the order bank forever.

I went through the whole FWD tow package debacle back in June when we placed our order and my sales guy called me mid August giving me the option to drop the tow package or keep it and add AWD.

If your dealer ordered you a FWD tow package equipped Maverick you will never see it

I have a FWD EB on order as well, tried to switch it to AWD with 4K tow package. Salesperson at my dealer told me the same story, they couldn't add the AWD but had the ability to add the 4k tow package. So it must be an error in the system as I was under the same assumption about not being able to have the 4k tow with out AWD. Another person at the same dealer said they closed the orders/mods for the AWD last Thursday since thats all Ford could make for MY22. I left my order as is for now, but still hoping I can add AWD and 4K tow package.
