My Maverick (XLT Hybrid) was scheduled to be built for the week of July 31 initially. After some minor changes in dates, it was pushed to August 5, but I noticed it had been marked as "In Production" on July 27. I assumed, as the tracker suggests, that this would take a few days.

I was shocked to receive a 45 day email yesterday (August 10) stating the following:

"We understand it has been too long since you last heard from us. Just wanted to give you an update on the status of your Maverick XLT order. While production of your vehicle was projected to begin the week of July 31, 2023, supply chain challenges continue to cause delays and uncertainty.

This is frustrating, we get it. We want nothing more than to get your Ford up on the line and start assembling it. And we will continue to work hard to reduce the delays to try to get you on the road in your new vehicle soon.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get more information, at least once every 45 days. Hang in there. We really do appreciate your patience and understanding."

Has anyone else gotten one of these emails after their vehicle was already in production?

I have never gotten an email from Ford as the dealer entered in the wrong address and once that happens it is unfixable. I have tried numerous times to no avail over the last 11 months.

I use Chat and according to my latest talk with them my truck appears to be "stuck" in pre-shipment. Chat says Primary status is "In Production" & Secondary Status is Built 7/29 in Pre-Shipment status. Tracker continues to show In Production.

2 weeks in pre-shipment seems like a long time but who knows. If indeed the factory is shutdown to 2 weeks that would explain things.

Moral of the story, check with chat and see if they have updated info. Can't hurt. Good luck.

Thanks. I don't follow things super closely, so I must've missed any other posts about other folks receiving the same email.

Do we have an idea as to the typical amount of time a vehicle spends in the "In Production" stage before being marked as "Built"?

You should be very close since your production day was the 5th. Have you checked to see if your modules have popped?

Once you go into production you should be able to access your window sticker on ford.com. if you see that, I would just ignore that 45 day notice.

Same thing just happened to me. I have my window sticker and VIN so I should be all set. My truck has been showing in production since the week of the 28th (Build week of 9/4). It really complicates things though that the new model year production is starting soon and the UAW strike will delay any transport.
