Howdy All,

I just watched a couple YouTube videos that described a "known issue" with all of the Ford 4-cylinder EB engines: coolant consumption due to the head-to-block interface.

Is anyone seeing this on this site?

That's possible. Both of the videos were referring to 2014 and 2015 models. Hopefully this has been completely resolved.

We hope this iteration of the EB 2.0 will not have coolant issues but it will take time for these issues to crop up.

It could be years before we're aware of a problem.

Ford addressed this problem in 2019, revising cylinder head sealing on these later EB 2.0's, including those in the Mav. Shouldn't be an issue now.

I have a 2018 Escape, which has the 1.5L 4-cylinder, which also suffered from the coolant-intrusion problem. Short block was replaced in early 2020 at 25K, the "new" motor now has 26K on it, with no further problems. Like others have said, the 1.5 & 2.0 blocks were changed in 2019, I have not heard of a similar problem with 2.0's after that.
