I have an ecoboost with FWD I found on a lot after I cancelled an order for a hybrid I had ordered in July. I live in North Florida so AWD isn’t the biggest deal in the world for me. My truck usually averages 33.5 mpg when I hand calculate it. I do a lot of country driving so I don’t think the hybrid would have benefited me as much as a city driver would. I also prefer the extra power and conventional transmission.

I ordered my Lariat that way as well. We also bought a new F-150 FX4 in 😩2017, and have yet to engage 4wd... However, I did order the Maverick with a hitch; I’ll use it to get the m/c trailer out of the back yard, but the F150 to pull it on trips.

I originally ordered the FWD w/4k tow. Obviously, changed to AWD when they no longer offered the original combo. In the end I am glad I have AWD, specifically for boat ramps, but other than pulling the boat, no need for AWD here in Florida.

Just curious if anyone else ordered the 2.0 EB engine WITHOUT getting AWD?

Yes, When I first found the Maverick around the end of Sept. and started thinking about it, it was the Hybrid with FWD, but took time to get my husband on board with buying a new vehicle. By the time he was ready, he needed to test drive, and see some colors in person, this lead us to end of November and we missed the cutoff for ordering Hybrid, so ordered XL 2.0 eco with hitch reciever , floor mats, and spray in liner. We wanted to keep price low as possible, and figured they Hybrid didn't have AWD and we didn't need it even though we live in MA, all our previous cars and vans have had FWD and we manage fine.
