TLDR - we ordered a first gen XLT hybrid during the COVID & ordering fiasco.

About 2 months into waiting, got very luck and found a hot pepper FX4 EcoBoost XLT on a lot in New Mexico w/ no markups or add-ons. Towed that home on a U-Haul trailer being our 2004 F150, which has since been sold.

A Year later, hybrid arrived and we sold the FX4.

paid off the hybrid fast thanks to the 0% promo from form credit and it being $27K like they should be.

since we’re in CO we were able to get tons of EV credits and discounts and bought a Lightning - trading in the hybrid Maverick. Amazing amazing truck but for our specifics having exclusively EVs proved challenging and the “equity” in the Lightning was dropping so fast.

anyway, ordered a Lariat AWD Hybrid on May 16 and took deliver August 7. Nearly 3 weeks was waiting for delivery from rail depot to dealer! But dealer honored the employee pricing promo at time we ordered, which took just over $2,200 off the MSRP.

The new screen & B&O sound are welcome upgrades. Some things i could be picky about for a top tier trim package but overall super happy to be back in club Maverick

Man...nice color and I really love that lower front bumper area. Makes me want to trade my 24' XLT for a Lariat....... :sunglasses:

Since you have had three different ones, which drivetrain/platform would you say is best for everyday use?

I haven’t had the AWD Hybrid long enough but I did a LOT of “truck stuff” in our original hybrid. I would probably say XLT Hybrid AWD is the magic spot- but I went with Lariat because this round because the few goodies I wanted, like a sunroof, slide rear windows, 4K tow, ACC, all added on made the Lariat roughly the same price point especially with locking in the employee pricing discount. Man it’s a tough choice because the FX4 EcoBoost was awesome too in its own way. Everyone has their own needs and great by ford to have options now

My 3rd Maverick too. From XLT to Lariat (wasn’t offered in Canada when I ordered the XLT).

Loved the Lariat but spent a ton of time trying to make it better with salvaged parts.

Escape speedometer, Sync 4 and screen, the list goes on. So when I managed to acquire an all wheel Lariat hybrid I jumped at it.

Didn’t like the front end updates initially but now they have grown on me and I actually prefer it.

I absolutely love this truck and totally understand you buying a 3rd one. Congratulations and welcome back to MTC.
