Probably any 220mm and up would work fine. Take your pick I have an older Creality End 3 it works great. There are a bunch out there and they just get easier to use all the time.

This thread has high potential to derail based on 3D printer preferences in my other hobby groups.

I'll throw my opinions out there but a lot of it will come down to personal preference, experience with printers, how big you're trying to print, and what material.

All3DP has been a pretty solid source in the past, their 2023 buyer guide is a good starting place:
The Best 3D Printers in 2023 – Buyer’s Guide

For the money the Creality Ender 3 series is tough to beat, just make sure the model has a bed that can do 100 C and a nozzle above 230 C if you're printing in ABS or ASA filament. Speaking of which, I've had issues with PLA warping on interior pieces. ABS can be a pain to print but has higher temperature resistance; I switched to ASA which does everything ABS can and is a lot easier to print. I recommend for car accessories unless you need them absolutely rigid with no flex, then use PETG. You will need to print in an enclosure to minimize temperature differences during printing and contain the fumes, plenty of options to choose (Creality even makes a pop-up fireproof "tent" enclosure).

I have a Prusa i3 Mk2.5S and they used to be the best for reliability/quality/mid-range pricve but lately they've gotten more expensive and are getting out-classed on features by new competitors. I've heard great things about Bambu labs if you have the cash but they're also not easy or cheap to repair and need an internet connection to use.

Happy printing.

Ender 3 series was tough to beat but I now recommend the kobra($199) or kobra 2($229) from anycubic as they are both direct drive and auto leveling and are Out of box print ready. Also anycubic has considerably better customer service than creality

I'm using a Sovol SV01 Pro for my prints. Using black PETG. I would love to know if anyone has found a good orange that matches the interior accents for the XLT. I have been hesitant to order anymore and it not match because I can only print so much UT Vols stuff!

Also to answer the OP's question, any printer that is dialed in will work great. I would just be cognizant of the available print area and make sure that it suits your needs. The Ender 3 has been where most people start, but there are many options available now.

I like the way you prefaced your comment. ; )

I agree because of first hand experience, that using PLA in car interiors can be problematic. Warping and deformation can occur easily on an 85Âş+ day in a parking lot with your windows up. I have been using PETG and have had zero issues, I do agree that ASA is probably the best filament for car interior applications, because of cost and ease to print. The only reason I haven't been using it is because of the fumes and the need for a printer tent. I do not have ventilation hooked up or an enclosure.

Prusa makes super solid, very reliable machines, but they do get costly and many competitors have entered the market with options/features that come with a much lower price tag. Creality is the OG when it comes to recreational/personal 3D printers. The Ender 3 V2 Max Neo is a solid option, but there again, many other competitors like, Sovol, Bambu Labs (I've got my eye on these guys, they are doing some awesome stuff), AnyCubic, and Kingroon are just a few of these. I would advise doing a little YouTube research to find out what your needs are, then dialing in what you would like to spend, and making your decision from there.

As I am typing this, I have a FITS adapter to hold a Nintendo Switch running in the background, because we are going out-of-town this weekend and that will help keep the kiddos happy during the drive.

I’ve had a Creality Ender 3 and a Prusa MKIII this year. The creality is a good printer that just requires user support. If you know how to physically maintain one it is great. The Prusa is just far more ready to go in comparison. Better features, consistency with less user input. It also costs like 4x the amount.

If you want an easy, FAST printer to use - check out the Bambu Labs P1S (the S comes with an enclosure good for doing PETG / AMS) In terms of time printing a CUBBY drawer / FITS adapter - takes about 5+ hours in a Creality Ender 3 S1, and 1.25 hours in a Bambu Labs P1S.

I've got a stock Ender 3 that I've upgraded over the years, and the new Ender 3 V3 SE looks like a great option for people just getting started. $200

Ender 3 v3 SE is a solid machine, with its direct drive. If you wanted even more value you could always get a base Ender 3 - for 136$ right now -> https://store.creality.com/products/ender-3-3d-printer-4za7

But if I was trying to get the best bang for the buck - I would go with a Elegoo Neptune 4 for 259$ as for the extra 60$ gets you 500mm speed vs. a Ender 3 v3 SE which prints at 250mm speed. thats a big difference in speed and worth the bucks.

My son started with a Rostock Max V2 about 6 years ago- basically a DIY printer that he's upgraded over the years.
Learned a lot, but like any DIY product requires fiddling.
Now that he's had a job, recently bought a Bambo labs P1S.
Is incredibly happy with it. I was amazed to watch him run through about a 10 minute set up and have great fast prints.
