While the Maverick is small enough that maneuvering is a lot less stressful than a full-size, you can't beat having full vision front, side and rear. Seems a retro for such a feature is now possible thanks to this company. I haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing, as I don't want to bite off more than I can chew install-wise, but this is tempting. Noted: Install calls for cams to be installed into the Maverick's side view mirrors which seems to me could be a bit tricky given the rounded surfaces one would have to deal with. Perhaps a better install would be in the side badges. Lots of room behind the badge to hold the cam, easy access for wiring, and much easier to drill into (See my thread on installing a turn signal lamp in the badge).
Here's the link to the company. I'd be curious to hear other's thoughts about it.

I wish there was one that was a single mount on the center of the roof. Similar to how an "OWL" works with multiple cameras all in one lens for conference calls/Zoom meetings.

We have an Owl at work. I like it. Very easy to use and I imagine the technology could easily translate to a vehicle.

Thanks for your input. I'd never heard of this item, and I think you're right about re-imagining such a unit for auto use.

A wide angle array on the roof wouldn't allow you to see much of the sides or front of the vehicle. You would be limited to horizon.

But if you had one on top and one underneath(somehow self cleaning) AI could fill in the gaps like Fords own ghost trailer backup camera system.

Good point. Since this technology is not new for other vehicles, I would think the engineers looked at a roof mount and came to the same conclusion. Thanks for chiming in.

I love how members here come up with such imaginative alternatives and creative solutions! I suppose this could work.

It would work if it was lifted high enough (on a tall antenna) but then you have resolution limitations as the system would need to digitally crop in significantly. Wide angle lenses work best when they are as close to the object you're trying to see.

I.e. dash cameras can't even read license plates.

It's possible to do but the best solution is the current 4 cameras.

It's like the classic meme: spend millions designing a pen that works in space, or use a pencil.

A decent true 8k 360 array is thousands of dollars. Oh and they're massive :)

Boat fenders all around. Clear plastic sheeting over all seating and interior surfaces.

One thing that I missed about living in China is the car service. You can buy everything for your car and the body shop or mechanic will install it for you at a reasonable price. The 360-degree camera is a standard in the Chinese car market. You may also install one anytime.

Had no idea of this. Thanks for the contribution. So despite the totalitarian government, good car service! Who knew?! LOL
