I cancelled my order for a '25 Lariat EB, not due to lower HP, but because I learned about the GPF. I only drive my truck about 3K miles per year, mostly town miles, and GPF's don't like it when it can't heat up long enough to burn off the crap it collects.

Apparently some (all?) gasoline engines will need it to hit the next level of California emissions reductions.
Think there are like 11 states that follow California emissions. Possible the manufacturers will just make all of the cars the make complient.

If you live in Iowa, the 25 Maverick will not have a GPF. There are 21 states where the GPF will have it installed. The Ford Video Guy has a video that talks about this.

I'm one of the unlucky ones that live in NY and will get the GPF I assume.

I'll be coming out of a 2016 Ford Edge with the 2.0 Ecoboost which makes 245hp, plenty peppy in normal drive mode and even better in Sport. I assume the Mav will feel about the same.

Can you link the video? I know I sort of heard it but I can’t dig through all of them to find which one it was. I live in Iowa but my truck was ordered to a dealership in Omaha since I technically work for them. I don’t believe Nebraska has any more strict regulations but I certainly hope not

I would say torque more important than HP. Granted, unless going really fast, prob never use all that HP.

Are the hybrid models getting the gpf as well? I know I live in an emission state.

I would like to see/hear it as well.

this is extremely good news for people who don't live in a state using california emissions, but honestly, if I had a new ecoboost delivered, I'd crawl under there for a look to see if there is a GPF. it is immediately downstream of the catalytic converter and should be very obvious.
