25S02 12V Battery Recall Reimbursement

I replaced the battery myself months before the recall happened because it died.
Brought it in to the dealership last week and they put in a new battery according to the recall.

Called customer support, and they said I would need the original receipts in order to get a reimbursement.
I had no way of foreseeing this becoming a recall so of course I did not keep the receipts.

How have y'all gone about getting reimbursed?

No receipts, no reimbursement. Not keeping receipts? Tell me you've never been audited without saying it.

if you paid cash then you're out of luck. Any other form of payment you can contact the place you bought it and they shouldn't have much trouble furnishing you with the receipt or something close to it - also take pix of the battery with the date code and year on it and send it along. If they still don't reimburse you take it up one level - if that doesn't work...you're done.
