I just found a 2025 Maverick XL (4K tow, CP360) at a local Ford dealer for MSRP - $4,000!!!!! NO JOKE!
If I don't buy it tomorrow, I'll release it's location. If you have any questions I will try to answer them tomorrow evening.
I think the price drop is related to the approaching end of June, and that some dealers are struggling to meet possible sales targets - This is just a guess on my part.
Good Luck in your Search!

Update, I did buy the 2025 EG XLT today, cash deal.
The car was being sold at Portage Ford in Portage Wisconsin. The salesman said that they have low prices to draw buyers from a wider area, Madison, to be specific. Portage itself has a population of 10,000 people and is considered to be part of the greater Madison Metroplex.
The truck is an XLT Lux, with 4K tow and CP360. The only dealer installed is a manditory $399 "anti-theft" "option". Which I don't really need, but I didn't gripe since their advertised discount on this vehicle is/was $4,558. My "out the door" price is $35974.40.
the vehicle is still in transit and last I looked, still on their website. More on it when I pick it up, whenever that is!
This may be the time to hunt for a Maverick or try to make a hard bargain on one that is close to you.
The reality check is that every truck that popped up on my Cars.com vehicle finder in the last 3 days at all different dealers were listed at straight MSRP. Good hunting!

What is the anti-theft option? No way I would let them ADD it as it can interfere with the factory device.
Probably this shitty thing.

When I bought my Honda Fit in 2020, it had this rats nest installed. I turned down their anti theft option, so they just disabled it but left all the wiring which was tapped into the factory wiring. A couple years later I ripped it out of the car but it was a pain.

It's made by KARR and from my understanding is a convenience feature meant for the dealership. It's an ignition kill, and let's the dealership lock/unlock any car on the lot with it installed with a universal keyfob. I was told by that Honda dealer that every car they had on the lot had it installed and if you don't 'buy' the upgraded alarm they disable its functions but don't remove that rats nest of wiring.

So you're paying them to hose you.

The MSRP for the truck you bought is $35,895.

It doesn't sound like there was a trade so you would be paying tax on the full price of the vehicle, which appears to be capped at 6% in Wisconsin - so your OTD price includes roughly $2,000 of tax - which puts the vehicle sale price around $33,938.11.

Definitely not a $4,300 discount - looks like it falls in line with the A plan employee pricing offered nationwide currently.

Congrats on your new Mav!

hush now, no harm in letting him think he got the deal of a lifetime.

dealers got us all by the short and curlies... the maverick is a popular truck filling a new space with no competition.

That anti-theft thing is a scam. It was $299 at my dealer. It was basically just vin etching which is completely useless to the vehicle owner. I told them it was a deal breaker and they removed it from my bill.

I didn't want it, but it was manditory and it's their car until I sign for it, so......
What it is is some type of stealth engraving or tattooing that goes on each body panel, and Law Enforcement supposedly finds and ??? returns??? the pieces? I just realized that I don't really know what it is!
Oh well it's just some woo-woo shat that costs $399.

That was a rough estimate, but it was the the best I could do on any truck I actually wanted LOCALLY. Locally, otherwise the standing discount was $1500 to 2K. I don't doubt I got taken, I was married once!

No you didn’t get taken at all - you got the employee (A plan) price which was about $1,800-$2,000 off MSRP.

It’s a great deal for Mavericks right now.

I asked a local sheriff and 2 local police from different jurisdictions about the "etching" when a dealer said I had to buy it. All 3 laughed and said they don't waste time looking for stolen cars period. If they show up illegally parked is the only way they get found or involved in an accident. Just to be a wise guy, I know you want the truck so I am not saying don't buy it, tell the salesman that you want him to show the etching on every piece on that truck. Then ask how long it took them to disassemble the truck, etch it, and re-assemble it. Just to watch him fumble through the lies. The local dealer who tried to sell it to me said the etching is not visible to the naked eye. I replied "then it's not visible to anyone ever so what does it do?" He had no answer. Wish you much happiness with the truck and YES we all over pay sometimes for things we really want. So look at it this way $399 divided by 5 years is less than $80/year. $80/year divided by 365 = $0.22/day to own a truck you want. Not bad, what can you get so much enjoyment from for 22 cents a day?
Thanks for the kind words! Now the rest of the story!
When I was negotiating the deal by telephone and he said Anti-Theft $399, I immediately said "What is that?" Once he explained, I quickly told him that I have no use of such a thing! I didn't ask for any favors or changes. We moved on.
When I received the salesman's (Sales Manager's) second proposal on vehicle pricing, I noticed that the $399 charge was still there, but now it was listed as "Auto Armor". I am happy with the swap, but I'm afraid to ask what that is because it's probably a rabid raccoon with each truck!
