I did read about that issue early on. I think it has been fixed (or reprogrammed).

I'm not a fan of remote starting. We live on a farm with lots of cats. They have no forewarning to get out of dodge when a remote start is used. It is never seriously cold here in central CA, and I have no need to cool the truck down prior to getting in.

Interestingly, we purchased a Bronco Sport from Granger earlier this year. Since it was a mid west order, it came free of charge with the optional ceramic heater (basically blows hot air instantly when the heater is turned on). We may be one of the few in CA with this luxury.

It's only really an issue for those like me in a colder climate, but not a good idea to store your Maverick in a garage if you plan on starting it with the remote start or idling before driving to warm it up. Best advice is to get in it, start it, let it warm for a second with the heat off, and drive a bit till it warms up and the low temp light goes off or its up to temp, and then put the heat on,, wear a warm coat till then. You don't want that cabin electric heater to run any more than you want the exhaust gases to be constricted.

I assume my MY22 had the ceramic heater too (well it had some kind of retrofitted space heater), I hate to say this, but I wish it didn't, it's another electrical nightmare waiting to happen too and smells, literally, like a burning building when it's working.
