I guess I was lucky, when I ordered I asked the sales guy how to get information and he said the manager would contact me the next business day with a DORA and sales number and from there, I could keep in contact with Ford directly and receive just as much information as the dealership would get....
I think they knew I was going to be annoying if I had to keep going through them for updates hahah
My mom was the OG Karen in the 90s growing up and she embarrassed me so much that I have to remind myself that it's ok to pester in some situations. I feel like I've been beyond patient with my salesman and so now it's time to start following up with a little more gusto. Plus, "I want my damn truck" haha

Hello, everyone! Brand new here! I was googling the 2025 Maverick production times and was linked here. Y'all seem to be in the know, so I figured I would ask this community.

This is my first time ordering a vehicle, but I "ordered" a 2025 XL at the beginning of October. The guy at the dealership said I didn't need to put any money down, and that we would both be notified when the order was picked up. I followed up twice since then and he has assured me both times that the vehicle was ordered. However, I still have nothing. No order number, no VIN number, nothing, and I'm looking for some advice from y'all. Is this typical? Did I waste two and a half months and need to talk to another dealership, or am I about where I should be in this process? Y'all reporting your orders shipping concerns me.

I appreciate everyone's input in advance!

That requires a VIN, which won't show up for a long time after order confirmation.

Correct. I haven't gotten either of those so I'm just sitting here wondering if it was ever ordered to begin with. I was busy with work yesterday and today as well, so hopefully I'll have time to set aside to call them tomorrow. I bet there's a long wait.

Your dealer should be able to give you definitive information easily. If they can't do it, then it's likely they didn't place your order.

I ordered mine on 8/23 and got the notification the same day. With the order number and the sales code, Ford can give you an update. I used Ford Chat, but I had to do it on my phone. If they give you a VIN, be sure and copy it before you let them go, because it is gone when the chat is closed.
You have the ability to print the chat, the down arrow at the bottom will set you up to print the entire chat. Just did that this morning.

I called the marketing number today and they have nada on record about me. I texted the salesman asking what's up but haven't heard back. I'm thinking I just wasted two and a half months. I suppose I'll go order my truck tomorrow from a different dealership.

Since the dealer doesn't have any of your money and not providing you the info I would just move on if for no other reason than lack of communication with you.

In the last 3.5 years I have ordered numerous Mavericks and never had issues with status when I called Ford or talked to the dealer and yes production wait times were too long back in 21/22.
If you ordered in October and Ford has your email you should have received an order confirmation within hours to a few days. Then you wait for a production date email. Sorry to hear all you get is crickets.

I ordered another 25 Maverick less than 2 weeks ago and got a confirmation within an hour of dealer ordering and 2 days later I got a production date (week of 10 February) plus the VIN.

One last piece of advice, don't pay silly dealer fees and "never" pay over MSRP and some dealers will do even better. For example Granger Ford in IA and Long MacArthur in KS will treat you well. If interested you can find them with a search on this forum.
Good Luck

Man, that's terrible. What a shitty dealership.

I agree with the other posters...order a Maverick from another dealership. I do highly recommend Granger Ford from Iowa. I am ordering my 2nd Maverick from them. They are awesome dealership. They have the best prices and the customer service is top notch!

Thanks for the advice! At this point, maybe I'm better off trying to get one off the lot? That might be quicker. Not sure how that would effect pricing because they might try to sell over MSRP. I'm just looking for a base model XL in white. I went the order route after spending a month or two trying to buy a 2024 one. I was unsuccessful because those fly off the shelf and I couldn't find one. No idea. Kinda defeated on this one right now. I'm very busy with work and family for the next couple of weeks so it's going to be tight finding the time to go order one again. I don't want to wait another 2-3 weeks to place the order though. Whatever. We will see.

You may be able to find plenty of 24MY XL/XLT's on the lots now.

But you can't take them off the lot, even if you could buy them.

Safety item recall that won't allow Ford/dealerships to release them. Until a means to fix the issue comes. Obviously ASAP since both want to sell existing inventory. But it's been ASAP since mid-Nov, so don't hold breath.

Lariat yes you can buy.

If you order through @Granger Ford the process is handled via email and is painless and fast.
If you have time to call Ford marketing and your dealer, plus post on this forum, you have time to place an order 😉.

A 24 might be a good idea but as noted you can't drive it home until the camera recall is cleared and it's already been a month with no fix. But since the 25's are coming the dealer might deal on one? U could email one of the above dealers I mentioned and do it on line but they are not close to TX so not sure if that would work for you. I flew to Phily and IA to buy and drive home 2 of my Mavericks. Guessing a 24 might be the quickest but the fly in the soup is the recall.
Did you ever hear ack from your dealer?
Good hunting
